After reading the emails from his two star students, Lou Jinghui and Ji Tianhe, Song He swallowed a handful of capsules and began working things out on paper.
Ideas surged through his mind, and his hands moved just as quickly. Sheet after sheet filled up, only to be crossed out again and again.
The moment he put pen to paper, he felt the solution was within reach. All he had to do was stretch out his hand, and he could touch an entirely new method of analyzing drug molecule data. He was incredibly excited!
But after writing for a long while, he realized... something was wrong!
His line of thought seemed to have landed in an empty space, surrounded by glass walls on all sides.
Every direction seemed passable, yet every direction ended with him crashing into transparent glass. Each path was blocked by inconspicuous obstacles, cutting off every possible way forward!
"I'll think about it, and you think about it too. At midnight, I'm going to the Vegetarian Cafeteria for a late-night snack. If you're not tired, come find me and we can discuss it in person. If you are, we'll talk about it in class tomorrow."

Song He was used to coming here for late-night snacks. Eating something too greasy in the middle of the night made him uncomfortable, so some vegetables and snacks were enough to fill his stomach.
He first put his computer bag on an empty table in the corner to save a seat, then picked up a tray and went to order food.
