Ch. 61Qi Refining Layer 7

Han Yi broke through to Qi Refining Layer 7 after a month of closed-door cultivation and recovered much of his wealth by opening three storage bags. He emerged from seclusion intending to pass the sect’s assessment and enter the Inner Peak, while considering which peak to choose.

  • The Illusory Immortal Mirror showed the Cave Heaven Trial disciples and Sect Master Yuan Shun before Li Heng announced the Inner and Outer Peak Grand Competition.
  • Han Yi returned to his courtyard, took five Evil Warding Pills, and began cultivating toward Qi Refining Layer 7.
  • Han Yi broke through to Qi Refining Layer 7 and spent the rest of the month stabilizing his cultivation.
  • Han Yi used his transformed divine sense to open three storage bags, gaining spirit stones, magic artifacts, talismans, and other materials.
  • Han Yi left seclusion and planned to pass the sect’s assessment, while weighing whether to choose Sword Pill Peak or another Inner Peak.

Ch. 62Inner Peak Grand Competition

After learning about the inner peak competition, Han Yi watched the matches at Battle Arts Peak and realized he could improve by studying other disciples' fights. He returned to Little Spirit Void Peak to practice with his Wind Demon Daggers, wielding three at once as he continued strengthening his combat skills.

  • Han Yi learned that the inner peak competition had been underway for half a month and that its top ten would receive a Foundation Establishment Pill.
  • Han Yi went to Battle Arts Peak, judged the weaknesses of two Qi Refining Layer 8 fighters, and decided to learn by observing the competition rather than enter it.
  • Senior Brother Li defeated Senior Brother Zhu, and Han Yi spent the day studying the battles before leaving when the competition ended for the night.
  • Han Yi returned to his courtyard and practiced combat scenarios, discovering that he could control three Wind Demon Daggers at once after reaching Qi Refining Layer 7.
  • Han Yi lost control of one dagger, which smashed a decorative rockery in his rear courtyard.

Ch. 63Azure Dragon Peak

Han Yi absorbed combat experience from the Inner Peak Grand Competition, then passed the inner sect assessment and chose Azure Dragon Peak over Sword Pill Peak after learning about the Pill Sword Technique’s difficulty in reaching the Golden Core realm. He moved to Azure Dragon Peak and went with Luo Yunzhou to pay respects to Luo Yunzhou’s master.

  • Han Yi watched the Inner Peak Grand Competition and studied the combat methods of its strongest disciples, then spent nearly half a month organizing and practicing what he had learned.
  • After the Outer Peak Grand Competition began, Han Yi passed the cultivation assessment for promotion to the inner sect.
  • Han Yi consulted Guan Di, Yan Ru, Luo Yunzhou, and Cui Xingchen before choosing Azure Dragon Peak instead of Sword Pill Peak because the Pill Sword Technique made forming a Golden Core exceptionally difficult.
  • Luo Yunzhou assured Han Yi that Azure Dragon Peak would accept him, and three days later Han Yi received approval and moved into an ordinary courtyard there.
  • Han Yi followed Luo Yunzhou to Azure Dragon Palace to pay respects to Luo Yunzhou’s master, who had helped arrange his entry into Azure Dragon Peak.

Ch. 64Bai Wanqing

Han Yi met Bai Wanqing, Luo Yunzhou’s master, after joining Azure Dragon Peak and declined her offer to become her disciple. While exploring the peak alone, he sensed an unusual spiritual-energy fluctuation in an unoccupied courtyard and entered to investigate.

  • Luo Yunzhou introduced Han Yi to Bai Wanqing, who praised him and offered to take him as her disciple.
  • Han Yi politely declined Bai Wanqing’s offer, and she told him he could seek her out if he encountered difficulties.
  • Luo Yunzhou showed Han Yi around Azure Dragon Peak, explained the Golden Core cultivator’s role, and guided him to Azure Dragon Cliff.
  • After Luo Yunzhou left, Han Yi explored the peak and sensed a hidden spiritual-energy fluctuation inside an empty courtyard.
  • Han Yi decided the peak was safe enough to investigate and leaped over the courtyard wall.

Ch. 65Encounter

Han Yi secretly witnessed Vermilion Bird Peak disciple Chu Yi use a mysterious mirror to contact a Blood God Sect elder and discuss infiltrating the Mystic Pill Sect. He remained hidden after realizing the spy’s plans could threaten the sect, and tried to calm himself before deciding what to do.

  • Han Yi searched the courtyard for the vanished spiritual energy fluctuation, then hid when a young man climbed over the wall.
  • The young man used a floating mirror to contact Elder Sun, who told him to reach Foundation Establishment and infiltrate the Mystic Pill Sect.
  • The young man, whom Han Yi recognized as Chu Yi, reported that Mystic Pill Sect disciples had grown stronger, and Elder Sun declared that the sect would become the Blood God Mountain Range.
  • Han Yi saw a black illusory bead return to a Meditation Chamber and realized Chu Yi was a Blood God Sect spy.
  • Han Yi considered that the Blood God Sect might have planted spies who had already become Foundation Establishment elders, then forced himself to calm down and stayed hidden.

Ch. 66Reporting

Han Yi reported his discovery of a Blood God Sect spy while keeping his identity concealed, hoping the Mystic Pill Sect would investigate without exposing him. After the Foundation Establishment cultivators searched Red Sun Market and withdrew, Han Yi remained wary inside Nine Dragon Shop.

  • Han Yi decided he had to report the Blood God Sect spy but avoid becoming entangled in the sect struggle.
  • Han Yi chose Red Sun Market as a place to deliver his report anonymously and wrote down the details of his discovery.
  • Han Yi disguised himself, circled the market, and threw the report tied to a knife through the doors of the sect's monitoring tower.
  • Three Foundation Establishment cultivators released their auras across Red Sun Market, then withdrew them within three breaths.
  • He Fangwei asked Han Yi whether he had come to sell Gold-Silver Pills, and Han Yi replied that he wanted to buy materials.

Ch. 67Yuan Shun

Han Yi reported a Blood God Sect spy and suspected a Foundation Establishment elder was involved, prompting the Mystic Pill Sect to activate its formations and investigate. Three days later, Sect Master Yuan Shun appeared at Han Yi’s courtyard to question him.

  • Han Yi returned to his courtyard after delivering a spirit talisman and practiced the Sword Control Technique while wondering whether the warning had reached the sect.
  • Lu Anping and two other Foundation Establishment cultivators read Han Yi’s talisman and went to report its claims to the Sect Master.
  • Three Golden Core cultivators emerged from Mystic Pill Peak, and the sect activated the Heavenly Profound Astral Formation and the peak formations before they quickly settled.
  • Han Yi heard rumors that the sect had investigated an abnormality in its spirit vein, but suspected the event was connected to his report.
  • Yuan Shun arrived at Han Yi’s courtyard, identified himself as the Sect Master, and said he had come to ask Han Yi a few questions.

Ch. 68An Epiphany

Sect Master Yuan Shun questioned Han Yi about exposing Chu Yi and explained how the Mystic Pill Sect tracked activity in its markets. After Yuan Shun assured Han Yi he would not be implicated and hinted that greater challenges lay ahead, Han Yi returned to cultivation, resolved to stay cautious.

  • Han Yi recounted seeing Chu Yi address an illusory figure as Elder Sun and explained that he had notified the elders at the Red Sun Market tower.
  • Yuan Shun revealed that Chu Yi had been captured, but a secret art destroyed his soul when he was sealed; the sect had nevertheless gained some information from following his trail.
  • Yuan Shun explained that the sect could review activity across its Inner and Outer Peak Markets and had erased Han Yi's trace from the Immortal-Seeking Mirror.
  • Yuan Shun warned Han Yi that the sect needed powerful new-generation cultivators and that greater challenges awaited him.
  • Han Yi reflected on the danger posed by the Blood God Sect, resolved to lie low, and resumed cultivation in his Meditation Chamber.

Ch. 69Switching Cultivation Methods

Han Yi switched to the Fireforce Profound Art and spent the following years cultivating and improving his techniques at Azure Dragon Peak. As three years passed since he reached Qi Refining Layer 7, the Mystic Pill Sect strengthened its ties with the Primordial Beast Sect, while Han Yi remained focused on his steady progress.

  • Han Yi chose the Fireforce Profound Art over two more combat-oriented methods and used a Transmission Jade Disk to learn it.
  • After a week of practice, Han Yi updated his proficiency panel with the Fireforce Profound Art and learned that it was only safe to cultivate from Qi Refining Layer 7 onward.
  • Han Yi entered secluded cultivation and ignored the Outer Peak Grand Competition after realizing he could no longer participate.
  • Han Yi focused on improving seven techniques and assessed that he could fight ordinary Qi Refining Layer 8 cultivators and contend with ordinary Layer 9 cultivators.
  • The Mystic Pill Sect and the Primordial Beast Sect held a joint competition and planned further cooperation, which Han Yi saw as a way to strengthen their sects against the Blood God Sect.
  • Han Yi continued cultivating, and three years passed since he advanced to Qi Refining Layer 7.

Ch. 70New Policies

After three years of cultivation, Han Yi had mastered four Wind Demon Daggers and learned the Separation Fire Sword Art. He discussed the Mystic Pill Sect’s new policies with fellow disciples, which would force inner sect disciples to hunt demon beasts and compete for rankings or risk losing their resources and Inner Peak residency.

  • Han Yi practiced with four Wind Demon Daggers inside his Spirit Lock Formation and combined them with the Separation Fire Sword Art to greatly increase their power.
  • Han Yi reflected on the cultivation resources and training opportunities he had received since becoming an Inner Peak disciple.
  • Han Yi met Luo Yunzhou, Yan Ru, and Qi Hong at the Immortal Chess House and discussed the sect’s new policies.
  • Han Yi explained that Inner Peak disciples had to hunt a same-rank demon beast within six months and submit part of it to the sect.
  • Han Yi described the ranking system, Battle Arts Platform requirements, and the loss of Inner Peak residency for disciples with fewer than ten battle points after three years.

Ch. 71Selected

Han Yi analyzed the Mystic Pill Sect’s new policies requiring Inner Peak disciples to hunt demon beasts and compete for resources, then was assigned to the first expedition batch. He had hoped to travel with familiar companions, but Luo Yunzhou, Yan Ru, and Qi Hong were assigned to later batches.

  • Han Yi concluded that the sect’s policies would force Inner Peak disciples to face danger outside the sect and compete harder, as the Blood God Sect threat loomed over the remaining sixteen years of the deadline.
  • Yan Ru asked Han Yi to travel with her if they were assigned to the same batch, and Luo Yunzhou also expressed interest in joining him.
  • Han Yi returned to his courtyard, reviewed his cultivation progress, and trained the Body Lightening Technique.
  • Three days later, Han Yi learned that he had been assigned to the first batch for the Myriad Demon Mountains mission.
  • Han Yi discovered that Luo Yunzhou, Yan Ru, and Qi Hong were not in his batch, leaving him the only one among them selected.

Ch. 72Traveling Together

Han Yi met Zheng Hai for drinks before setting out for the Myriad Demon Mountains, then accepted Chu Jinmo’s invitation to travel with her group of White Tiger Peak disciples. He left his solo-travel plan behind and prepared to join the group, hoping their stronger cultivation would make the journey safer and help him pass the trial.

  • Han Yi and Zheng Hai shared drinks, and Zheng Hai suggested that Han Yi team up with Guan Di for the journey, but Han Yi declined.
  • Han Yi arrived at White Tiger Market, where several hundred disciples gathered beside three Calamity-Crossing Immortal Ships bound for the Myriad Demon Mountains.
  • Chu Jinmo greeted Han Yi and invited him to travel with her and five White Tiger Peak senior brothers.
  • Han Yi initially prepared to refuse Chu Jinmo’s offer, but changed his mind and agreed to join the group.

Ch. 73Myriad Demon Mountains (Please Follow)

Han Yi joined Chu Jinmo and five White Tiger Peak disciples on a mission to the Myriad Demon Mountains, where they would hunt demonic beasts while guarding against Blood God Sect ambushes. After reaching the mountains, the group set out together, and Han Yi remained close behind despite being the least advanced cultivator among them.

  • Chu Jinmo introduced Han Yi to five White Tiger Peak disciples, including Qi Refining Layer 9 cultivator He Fengdi, who treated her with marked respect.
  • Han Yi and the group boarded an immortal ship and traveled for two days to the Myriad Demon Mountains.
  • He Fengdi explained the difference between demonic beasts and demon cultivators, then warned the group that Blood God Sect disciples might disguise themselves as rogue cultivators and attack.
  • Han Yi reflected on He Fengdi's Cave Heaven Trial experience and judged that he could avoid defeat against him by using all his trump cards.
  • The immortal ship's Foundation Establishment elder ordered the disciples to disembark, and He Fengdi led the group into the mountains.
  • Chu Jinmo noted that Han Yi kept pace with the group despite his lower cultivation, while more than three hundred Mystic Pill Sect disciples scattered into the mountains in groups or alone.

Ch. 74Speculation (Please Read On)

He Fengdi led Han Yi and five White Tiger Peak disciples into the Myriad Demon Mountains to hunt demon beasts. After Han Yi helped the group escape a dangerous tree demon, a demon beast attacked their concealment array, leaving the team on alert.

  • He Fengdi explained the team's plan and assigned everyone roles for encounters with demon beasts before leading them into the mountains.
  • Shen Ru identified and killed a third-tier Crimson Spider, and the group continued deeper into the mountains before camping in a concealed cave.
  • Seven days later, the team encountered a powerful ninth-tier tree demon, and Han Yi used three Explosion Talismans to help the group escape.
  • He Fengdi praised Han Yi for his quick response, while Han Yi noticed the other disciples showed Chu Jinmo unusual reverence.
  • A violent tremor struck the tree hollow, and Li Yi warned that a demon beast was attacking the Spirit Concealment Array.

Ch. 75Tiger Demon

Han Yi and the others fled after their Spirit Concealment Array was broken, only to face a crazed peak ninth-rank Tiger Demon. He Fengdi and the group launched a coordinated attack, with Han Yi secretly sending his Shadowless Sword toward the beast.

  • He Fengdi ordered the group to flee, but Li Yi's array disk broke as a demon beast shattered the Spirit Concealment Array.
  • A gigantic, mad Tiger Demon crashed through a tree, and the group recognized it as a peak ninth-rank threat.
  • He Fengdi attacked with his Devouring Gold Cauldron and Gold-Eating Insects, while Liu Ke, Shen Ru, Li Yi, and He Ze unleashed their artifacts and techniques.
  • Chu Jinmo revealed her spirit sword, exposing that she cultivated the path of the Sword Immortal.
  • Han Yi sent his Shadowless Sword silently around the others, and the group's attacks struck the Tiger Demon together.

Ch. 76Horror

The crazed tiger demon overwhelmed the Mystic Pill Sect group, killing Liu Ke and He Ze before the survivors fled in different directions. Three Blood God Sect disciples revealed that they had cursed the tiger to drive the sect’s disciples into a hunting ground, and Senior Han ordered them to follow it while leaving Chu Jinmo alone for now.

  • The tiger demon resisted the group’s attacks, restrained Chu Jinmo’s spirit sword with its Gaze of Restraint, and trapped Han Yi’s Shadowless Sword in its throat.
  • The tiger demon pounced and killed Liu Ke and He Ze, prompting He Fengdi, Shen Ru, Li Yi, Chu Jinmo, and Han Yi to flee separately.
  • The tiger demon rampaged onward, driven mad by the Blood Soul Curse and the sword lodged in its throat.
  • Three Blood God Sect disciples arrived at the ruined tree hollow and explained that they had cursed the tiger to scatter and kill Mystic Pill Sect disciples near their medicinal lure.
  • Senior Han ordered the other disciples to follow the tiger and cautioned them not to humiliate Chu Jinmo, whom he recognized as a sword immortal.

Ch. 77A Single Kill

Han Yi fled the giant tiger’s ambush, then killed a Blood God Sect cultivator who attacked him on the road. Two more Blood God Sect cultivators arrived, and Han Yi recognized one as a man he had spared years earlier, leaving him facing another fight.

  • Han Yi abandoned his Shadowless Sword and used a Swift Talisman to escape the giant tiger, while the others scattered in different directions.
  • After fleeing ten kilometers, Han Yi sensed a cultivator ahead and encountered a Qi Refining Layer 8 Blood God Sect cultivator who attacked him.
  • Han Yi blocked the man’s blood arrows with Fire Shield Technique, then pursued him and killed him with Spirit Void Fingers and a Wind Demon Dagger.
  • Two more Blood God Sect cultivators arrived and recognized their fallen companion; Han Yi recognized one as the Qi Refining Layer 7 cultivator he had spared in Heavenfall City.

Ch. 78Battle of Magic Arts

Han Yi fought Shi Heng, whose Silver-Scaled Fan and careful defenses made him a formidable opponent. Han Yi’s linked daggers broke through Shi Heng’s barriers and severed his right arm, but a streak of black light appeared as Shi Heng tried to use another talisman.

  • Shi Heng attacked Han Yi with the Silver-Scaled Fan, but Han Yi evaded its silver radiance and blocked its transformed disc with a flaming shield.
  • Han Yi blasted away the Blood Soul Banner wielded by the other Qi Refining Layer 8 cultivator, who retreated from the fight.

  • Shi Heng reached for a third talisman as a streak of black light suddenly entered his vision.

Ch. 79Second Kill

  • Han Xuxiao decided not to pursue Han Yi and led the others away to continue their plan.
  • Han Yi hid in a tree hollow and used his Peak Mastery Turtle Breath Technique to conceal himself.

Ch. 80Grave

Han Yi found Li Yi and two other cultivators dead while fleeing the Myriad Demon Mountains, then rushed to save Chu Jinmo when he recognized her sword. After blocking a devastating halberd strike and sending Chu Jinmo away, Han Yi faced the burly Blood God Sect cultivator alone as the enemy attacked.

  • Han Yi left his hiding place and found the corpse of Li Yi, then passed two more dead cultivators as he hurried toward the outskirts.
  • Han Yi recognized Chu Jinmo's sword and rushed to her fight with a burly Blood God Sect cultivator wielding a gilded halberd.
  • The cultivator blasted Chu Jinmo's spirit sword away and wounded her, but Han Yi blocked the follow-up strike with his Fire Shield Technique and three Body Protection Talismans.
  • Chu Jinmo told Han Yi that she had less than one-tenth of her strength left, then retrieved her damaged sword and retreated at his urging.
  • The burly cultivator dismissed Chu Jinmo's escape as impossible, noticed Han Yi's Qi Refining Layer 7 cultivation, and charged at him with his halberd.
