Ch. 161Blood God Ambush

After three months guarding the Blood Sea, Han Yi set out for the Mystic Pill Sect’s main sect aboard an Immortal Ship, only for Blood God Sect cultivators to ambush the passengers. Han Yi killed Han Xuxiao while escaping, but another Blood God Sect cultivator used a Soul-Chasing Talisman to pursue him.

  • Han Yi left Profound Blood Peak with Li Wenbin and other cultivators aboard a Calamity-Crossing Immortal Ship, which also carried disciples of the Rogue Cultivator Golden Core Tian Boyi.
  • Blood God Sect cultivators ambushed the ship in Nanyang Commandery, destroyed it with lightning, and began slaughtering the scattered passengers.
  • Han Yi recognized thirteen Foundation Establishment enemies, carried inner sect disciples down into a forest, and told them to scatter before fleeing alone.
  • At the forest’s edge, Han Xuxiao ambushed Han Yi, but Han Yi used the Blacklight Broken Sword to kill him with one strike and escaped without taking his storage pouch.
  • A blood-robed Blood God Sect cultivator found Han Xuxiao’s remains, used a Soul-Chasing Talisman to locate Han Yi, and pursued him.

Ch. 162Magic Artifacts Exploding One After Another

After killing Han Xuxiao, Han Yi was pursued by the mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator Lu Zhi and fought him desperately near White Crane City. Lu Zhi withdrew after Han Yi crippled several of his artifacts, and Han Yi flew toward the city for safety while resolving to learn a spell that could disrupt karmic tracking.

  • Han Yi killed Han Xuxiao with one sword strike, then fled toward the hills as Lu Zhi pursued him.
  • Han Yi hid in a village cellar using the Turtle Breath Technique, but Lu Zhi found him and trapped the Blacklight Broken Sword in his fire lotus.
  • Han Yi attacked Lu Zhi with the Green Duckweed Sword and detonated the Clear Spring Sword, but Lu Zhi dodged the blast and counterattacked.
  • Han Yi used a Yin Thunder Talisman to disperse Lu Zhi's divine sense and disable his short sword, then detonated the Golden Light Shuttle to heavily damage Lu Zhi's blood sword.
  • Lu Zhi retrieved his artifacts and fled into the forest, deciding that Yuan Changtian might be able to hunt Han Yi down.
  • Han Yi recovered the Blacklight Broken Sword and flew toward White Crane City, avoiding the nearby town and resolving to learn a spell that could disrupt karma and heavenly secrets.

Ch. 163A Battle of Life and Death

Han Yi fought Yuan Changtian, the Blood God Sect cultivator who had hunted him for killing Yuan Bai, in a desperate battle on the outskirts of White Crane Immortal City. Han Yi survived by activating the Xuandu Yang Fire Talisman and exhausting his artifacts to stall Yuan Changtian, but a voice from above interrupted his relief after the enemy’s death.

  • Yuan Changtian caught up with Han Yi and identified him as Yuan Bai’s killer through the fragments of the Golden Light Shuttle.
  • Yuan Changtian attacked with his magic treasure, shattering Han Yi’s Blood Blade and nearly killing him, but Han Yi activated the Xuandu Yang Fire Talisman.
  • The talisman’s pure-white flame engulfed Yuan Changtian, while Han Yi used the Blacklight Broken Sword to withstand another strike from the Golden Light Shuttle.
  • Han Yi fled and detonated several magic artifacts to slow the burning Yuan Changtian, then pierced his head with the Green Duckweed Sword.
  • Yuan Changtian’s body and soul burned away, and Han Yi waited until he was sure the enemy was dead.
  • A voice from above praised Han Yi as an excellent disciple, startling him.

Ch. 164Heavenly Heart Daoist

Han Yi survived his battle with Yuan Changtian, but Tianxin True Monarch of Heaven's Will Sect took him away and insisted on making him a disciple. Tianxin explained that Han Yi would accompany him to the Great Qian Emperor’s birthday celebration, leaving Han Yi trapped with a master whose previous disciples had both met disastrous ends.

  • A Nascent Soul True Monarch appeared after Han Yi defeated Yuan Changtian, identified himself as Tianxin True Monarch, and carried Han Yi away toward Great Qian’s imperial capital.
  • Lu Zhi found the battlefield, realized Yuan Changtian and Han Yi were gone, and left to report the unexpected change to the Blood God Sect.
  • Han Yi healed his injuries with Luo Heaven Pills and a Soul Pill, then accepted the Golden Light Shuttle while remaining wary of Tianxin True Monarch.
  • Tianxin True Monarch declared Han Yi his disciple and said he would take him to the Great Qian Emperor’s two-thousandth birthday celebration to win glory for Heaven's Will Sect.
  • Tianxin recounted how his first disciple died at Sword Cliff and his second perished in a heavenly tribulation, then said Han Yi would inherit his mantle and help him take control of the sect.

Ch. 165Great Qian Immortal Capital

Han Yi recovered aboard Heavenly Heart Daoist’s Immortal Boat and arrived with him at the Great Qian Immortal Capital for the Sovereign’s birthday celebration. Though Han Yi still planned to escape and refused to accept his new master’s claim, Heavenly Heart Daoist introduced him as his disciple to a rival True Monarch, leaving Han Yi publicly associated with Heaven’s Will Sect.

  • During the forty-seven-day journey, Han Yi recovered from his injuries and assessed his remaining magic artifacts and spirit stones.
  • Heavenly Heart Daoist explained that the Great Qian Immortal Kingdom followed the Human Emperor’s immortal path, but refused to explain further until Han Yi reached Nascent Soul.
  • At the capital’s entrance, Heavenly Heart Daoist presented his invitation, introduced Han Yi as his new disciple, and entered after agreeing to obey the Great Qian Immortal Code.
  • After Heavenly Heart Daoist explained the capital’s courts and laws, Immortal Rites Department cultivators decided to watch the pair and report Han Yi to their department head.
  • In the Seventh Immortal Court, Heavenly Heart Daoist exchanged taunts with Earth Spirit True Monarch of the Spirit Battle Sect and presented Han Yi as his disciple.
  • Han Yi bowed respectfully to Earth Spirit True Monarch without correcting Heavenly Heart Daoist, while Heavenly Heart Daoist boasted that Han Yi would become a True Monarch and might even become a Dao Monarch.

Ch. 166Jade Palace Treasure Jade

Han Yi was taken by Heavenly Heart Daoist to the Great Qian Emperor’s birthday celebration and entered Jade Palace Treasure-Jade Heaven to compete for Spirit Jade. After securing one piece, he encountered a threatening female cultivator wielding a gilded halberd.

  • Heavenly Heart Daoist trapped Han Yi in the Perfected Unity Formation for a year while Han Yi cultivated in Everjoy Court’s fifth-rank spirit vein.
  • Heavenly Heart Daoist brought Han Yi to the Great Qian Immortal Court, where Han Yi saw Qin Wuxian and joined the Foundation Establishment cultivators entering the cave heaven.
  • Han Yi recognized Fu You, Xie Jingshan, Jiang Bo, and Cui Xingchen among the competitors before the Great Qian Emperor’s ceremony sent them into Jade Palace Treasure-Jade Heaven.
  • Han Yi landed beside the sea, prepared for an ambush, and rushed into the nearby forest after spotting Spirit Jade falling from the sky.
  • Han Yi pried Spirit Jade from a tree, but a cold-faced female cultivator approached and demanded that he surrender it, carrying a familiar gilded halberd.

Ch. 167Unrivaled Among Peers

Han Yi gathered Spirit Jade in Jade Palace Treasure-Jade Heaven, warded off cultivators who challenged him, and reached a standoff over an enormous deposit. He tried to break the deadlock by attacking, but a cultivator’s deadly arrow shot toward him as the other powerful entrants watched.

  • A purple-robed Great Qian cultivator attacked Han Yi, but he dodged her halberd and warned her off with a sword strike that cut her hair.
  • Han Yi used Aura Observation Technique to find a Spirit Jade deposit, collected dozens of pieces, and drove off a giant man wielding a set of powerful mirrors.
  • Pang Quan, Ding Jiansheng, and three other cultivators arrived at the valley after Han Yi left, then scattered through the forest.
  • Han Yi gathered more Spirit Jade and hurried toward a distant explosion, where he found a towering Spirit Jade deposit contested by more than a dozen cultivators.
  • Han Yi sent his Blacklight Broken Sword toward the mountain to disrupt the standoff, but a stern cultivator pierced the sword through his Peacock Fan and launched a deadly short arrow at him.

Ch. 168The Sovereign's Reward

Han Yi defeated a cultivator who attacked him and drove Fu You away before claiming a share of the Spirit Jade. After returning to the Great Qian Immortal Hall and rejoining the Mystic Pill Sect, he learned that the Emperor had granted him a magic treasure, spirit stones, and an official post.

  • Han Yi blocked the cold, severe cultivator’s Heavenly Mechanism Arrow with his Windfire Shields, then killed him with the Blacklight Broken Sword.
  • Fu You attacked Han Yi with a Blood Sword, but Han Yi recovered from a divine-soul assault and blasted Fu You into the forest.
  • Han Yi claimed roughly one-fifth of the enormous Spirit Jade and returned to the forest before the other cultivators fought over the rest.
  • Back in the Great Qian Immortal Hall, Han Yi identified himself as a disciple of Heaven's Will Sect and later reunited with Jiang Bo and Cui Xingchen.
  • Qin Wuxian warned Han Yi about Heavenly Heart Daoist and arranged for him to return to the Mystic Pill Sect with the group.
  • The Immortal Rites Department announced that the Emperor had awarded Han Yi the Seven-Star Kunwu Sword, one hundred high-grade spirit stones, and the post of Fourth-Order Inspector of the Ministry of Punishments.

Ch. 169Finally Returning to Mystic Pill

After returning to Mystic Pill Sect, Han Yi reported his experiences to Yuan Shun, learned that Blood God Sect remnants had killed five sect elders, and settled into his new elder’s quarters. He inventoried his rewards and planned to strengthen his cultivation and skills before asking Shen Ping about a spell that could disrupt heavenly secrets and overturn cause and effect.

  • Han Yi accepted the Great Qian Emperor’s Seven-Star Kunwu Sword, Spirit Stones, and Four-Token Inspector post after Qin Wuxian explained the rewards and their karmic significance.
  • Han Yi returned safely with Mystic Pill Sect and told Yuan Shun about Heavenly Heart Daoist and the events surrounding the Jade Palace Treasure-Jade Heaven; Yuan Shun warned him to stay cautious and revealed that Blood God Sect remnants had killed five elders.
  • Yuan Shun said he had arranged for the Blood God Sect remnants to be dealt with and explained that Han Yi might appear on Great Qian’s Qian Dragon Ranking.
  • Han Yi moved into an elder’s Meditation Chamber on Azure Dragon Peak, inventoried his treasures, and resolved to improve his defenses, spells, cultivation, and combat skills.
  • Han Yi asked Shen Ping for a technique that could disrupt heavenly secrets and overturn cause and effect, and Shen Ping reacted with surprise.

Ch. 170Yiyao Secret Art

Han Yi learned the Yiyao Art, suffered backlash after trying to divine Tianxin True Monarch, and later failed to locate Zheng Hai through divination. Using Spirit Jade, he advanced to mid Foundation Establishment, then visited Battle Arts Peak, where he promised Yan Ru a Foundation Establishment Pill, before asking He Fangwei about Fu Canghai's last instructions.

  • Shen Ping directed Han Yi to the Black Tortoise Palace to study karmic arts, and Han Yi selected the Yiyao Secret Art after collecting his elder equipment.
  • Han Yi suffered severe soul backlash when he tried to divine Tianxin True Monarch, then used Zheng Hai's sleeve to attempt a safer divination but found the heavenly secrets unclear.
  • Han Yi consumed Spirit Jade to advance from early to mid Foundation Establishment in less than half a month, then discovered that further Spirit Jade had little effect.
  • Han Yi met Yan Ru at Battle Arts Peak, learned about the sect's expanded Rise Initiative, and promised to give her a Foundation Establishment Pill when she reached the peak of Qi Refining.
  • Han Yi visited Nine Dragon Shop to ask He Fangwei whether Fu Canghai had left any instructions, and He Fangwei praised Fu Canghai's judgment of him.

Ch. 171Zheng Hai's Whereabouts

Han Yi agreed to deliver part of Nine Dragon Shop’s assets to the Fu Clan in Ancient Shu Immortal City, but his Yiyao Art revealed Zheng Hai’s trail and led him to Jiashan City. There, he learned that the city’s protections obscured karmic tracking and set out to seek help finding Zheng Hai.

  • He Fangwei told Han Yi that Fu Canghai had ordered one-tenth of Nine Dragon Shop’s assets sent to the Fu Clan, and asked him to locate the family and deliver their share.
  • Han Yi accepted the task, received a storage bag of resources and Fu Canghai’s old identity plaque, then set out in a Human Immortal-grade Immortal Boat.
  • While traveling, Han Yi’s Yiyao Art pointed east toward Zheng Hai, so he changed course and followed the trail to Jiashan City.
  • Han Yi found that his tracking technique became unclear inside Jiashan City and confirmed that Zheng Hai was somewhere within its walls.
  • Yuan Fei of the Imperial Astronomy Bureau explained that only an authorized edict could let the city lord use the city-suppressing treasure to trace karma, and recommended that Han Yi seek help from Li Clan Market.

Ch. 172Wenxiang Heretical Cult

Han Yi investigated the Li Clan Trading Company while searching for Zheng Hai and discovered that the Li Clan was collaborating with the Wenxiang Cult to capture cultivators for a pill-farming ground. After killing Li Wenheng and learning the truth from his memories, Han Yi headed for the Li Clan residence to find Zheng Hai.

  • Han Yi asked Li Wenheng to search Jiashan City for Zheng Hai, noticed the shopkeeper's nervous reaction to the Mystic Pill Sect, and paid a deposit for the search.
  • After Han Yi left, Li Wenheng brought Zheng Hai's portrait to Li Yuanqing, who ordered him to conceal the truth and said Zheng Hai should be disposed of.
  • Han Yi watched Li Wenheng leave the market, abducted him, and interrogated him under the pressure of his Foundation Establishment aura.
  • When Li Wenheng refused to reveal what he knew, Han Yi killed him and absorbed his soul to uncover his memories.
  • Han Yi learned that the Li Clan and Wenxiang Cult had captured cultivators from the Mystic Pill Sect and other sects for a pill-farming ground, and he rushed toward the Li Clan residence.

Ch. 173Slaughtering in All Directions

Han Yi discovered that the Li Clan had imprisoned Zheng Hai in a Wenxiang Cult pill-nurturing site, then killed two Li Clan elders and rescued him. He left Zheng Hai in the Imperial Astronomy Bureau’s care while the bureau took charge of investigating the Li Clan and its suspected accomplices.

  • Li Yuanqing and Li Wenhe discussed the Li Clan’s alliance with the Wenxiang Cult and decided not to kill the supposed Qi Refining newcomer.
  • Han Yi’s divine sense uncovered Zheng Hai being drained in the Li Clan’s underground pill-nurturing site, and he stormed into the hall.
  • Han Yi killed Li Wenhe and Li Yuanqing, destroyed the Second Elder’s three primary souls, and killed the Second Elder when he tried to flee.
  • Han Yi rescued Zheng Hai and accused the Li Clan of operating a Wenxiang Cult pill-nurturing site before clashing with Chu Xiong over the investigation.
  • Han Yi revealed his Fourth-Order Inspector authority, and Deputy City Lord Gu Wu assigned Yuan Fei and Cao Li to investigate while barring Chu Xiong from the case.
  • Han Yi warned Yuan Fei that the Li Clan’s First Elder was a missing late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator, then departed with Zheng Hai for treatment.

Ch. 174Spirit Jade's Marvelous Uses

Han Yi returned to the Mystic Pill Sect with Zheng Hai, whose body and cultivation had been ruined by the Wenxiang Cult, and used Spirit Jade to save his life. After the sect’s healers confirmed Zheng Hai could only become a mortal, Han Yi took him to Mengshan City to seek another remedy.

  • Yuan Fei and Cao Li investigated the Wenxiang Cult’s pill-cultivation farm while Chao Tianzong watched them through a Heaven-Peering Mirror and resolved to capture Han Yi for Fragrant Incense Pills.
  • Han Yi tried Soul Pills, Spirit Stones, and a Luo Heaven Pill on Zheng Hai, but Zheng Hai’s body could not absorb them; Chao Tianzong, Guang Jinglong, and Envoy Tang pursued Han Yi but could not catch his fast Immortal Boat.
  • Han Yi brought Zheng Hai to Jiang Yu at Vermilion Bird Peak, where Spirit Jade generated a thread of spiritual power and gave Zheng Hai a chance to survive as a mortal.
  • Han Yi cared for Zheng Hai with more Spirit Jade, and Zheng Hai woke three days later and accepted that he could no longer cultivate immortality.
  • After Han Yi sought help from the Mystic Pill Sect’s leaders without finding a further cure, he left with Zheng Hai for Mengshan City.

Ch. 175Ancient Shu Immortal City

Han Yi returned to Mengshan City with Zheng Hai, then traveled to Shu Capital to seek the Fu Clan. After learning that the Fu Clan could be one of twenty-seven families and hearing about the dangerous Mirage Immortal Illusion Realm, he prepared to investigate the family without committing to entering the realm.

  • Han Yi accompanied the gravely injured Zheng Hai to the Zheng Clan residence in Mengshan City, left medicine and his regards, then departed as Zheng Hai watched him go.
  • Han Yi traveled to Shu Capital and learned from Great Qian officials that the city was under martial law because the Mirage Immortal Illusion Realm was about to appear.
  • Han Yi visited the Mystic Immortal Pill Shop, where Zhou Su explained that the elders treated him warmly because they knew Sect Master Yuan Shun had supported him during his Foundation Establishment.
  • Han Yi asked Zhou Su about the Fu Clan, and Zhou Su said twenty-seven Fu cultivation families operated within Shu Capital's rings, leaving Han Yi to investigate which one matched his information.
  • Zhou Su explained that the Mirage Immortal Illusion Realm appeared every hundred years and offered treasures but killed most cultivators who entered; he advised Han Yi to stay away.

Ch. 176Wenxiang Ambush

Han Yi searched all twenty-seven Fu clans in Shu Capital but found none connected to Fu Canghai. As he left the city, Wenxiang Cult cultivators ambushed him and tried to subdue him, but his Ninefold Soul Pagoda blocked their soul attack.

  • Zhou Su gave Han Yi jade slips listing twenty-seven Fu clans and a detailed map of Shu Capital.
  • Han Yi investigated every listed Fu clan over nearly three months, but none proved to be Fu Canghai's clan, so he decided to return the storage pouch to He Fangwei.
  • A concealed Immortal Boat ambushed Han Yi outside Shu Capital, and three Foundation Establishment cultivators surrounded him.
  • Han Yi identified his attackers as Wenxiang Cult preaching envoys after they mentioned the hall master's boat and the Fragrant Incense Pill.
  • The black-robed female cultivator attacked Han Yi's consciousness while the sinister young man tried to feed him a Soul-Severing Pill.
  • Han Yi's divine soul transformed into a Ninefold Soul Pagoda, blocked the attack, and cleared the confusion from his mind.

Ch. 177Substitute Death Sorcery

Han Yi broke free of the evil witch’s soul-affecting witchcraft and fought three attackers at once, killing Chao Tianzong and exhausting the witch’s two Substitute Death Techniques before finally striking her down. As Guang Jinglong pursued him, Han Yi unleashed the Seven-Star Kunwu Sword, leaving the bearded cultivator facing the force of a magic treasure.

  • Han Yi resisted the evil witch’s witchcraft, evaded Guang Jinglong’s saber attack, and used the Blacklight Broken Sword to destroy the witch’s stone Substitute Death figurine.
  • The evil witch reappeared through her Substitute Death Technique, but Han Yi attacked her again while defending against Guang Jinglong and striking Chao Tianzong with the Flame Mist Sword.
  • Han Yi decapitated Chao Tianzong as Guang Jinglong revealed his spirit-body dual cultivation and charged after him.
  • Han Yi pursued the fleeing evil witch, destroyed her second Substitute Death figurine, and pierced her with the Blacklight Broken Sword before she reached the Immortal Boat.
  • Guang Jinglong smashed through Han Yi’s Yin Thunder Talisman and closed in, so Han Yi summoned the Seven-Star Kunwu Sword and sent its magic-treasure attack toward him.

Ch. 178Golden Core Pursuit

Han Yi defeated three Wenxiang Cult envoys with the Seven-Star Kunwu Sword, then escaped a pursuing Golden Core cultivator by abandoning the stolen Immortal Boat and hiding in the Shu Capital. After recovering, he reviewed the battle and suspected that someone in the capital had revealed his whereabouts, while recognizing that his Sword Control Technique needed further improvement.

  • Han Yi killed the spirit-body dual cultivator with the Seven-Star Kunwu Sword and beheaded the black-robed evil shaman, then discovered the shaman had no soul and collected what remained of the fallen cultivators’ artifacts.
  • Han Yi found that the ownerless Immortal Boat was a self-repairing magic treasure, loaded it with spirit stones, and fled before using the Yiyao Secret Art to detect a blood-red sign of danger.
  • A Golden Core Wenxiang Cult hall master pursued Han Yi toward the Shu Capital, so Han Yi abandoned the Immortal Boat and entered the city on foot while the pursuer recovered the boat and vowed to find him.
  • Han Yi rented a room at the Myriad Immortals Inn, recovered for seven days, and concluded that someone among the groups he contacted in the Shu Capital had exposed his whereabouts.
  • Han Yi reviewed the dangers posed by the evil shaman and spirit-body dual cultivator, recalled the pursuing Golden Core cultivator, and decided his Sword Control Technique needed to improve.

Ch. 179Return to Original Simplicity

Han Yi advanced Sword Control Technique to Return to Original Simplicity and traveled to Myriad Immortals Pavilion to buy a spell for changing his appearance and aura. He chose the costly Disguise Art, hoping his proficiency panel could unlock its ability to imitate the aura of a higher realm, and also purchased other supplies.

  • Han Yi practiced Sword Control Technique with multiple swords until the Flame Mist Sword pierced the Meditation Chamber wall, prompting a warning from a female cultivator at the inn.
  • Han Yi's Sword Control Technique advanced to Return to Original Simplicity, and he left for Myriad Immortals Pavilion's Eighth Immortal Ring shop three days later.
  • Han Yi asked shopkeeper Shangguan Yun for an easy-to-learn spell with a high cultivation limit for disguising his appearance and aura.
  • Shangguan Yun explained that the Disguise Art could potentially let cultivators imitate the aura of a higher realm, though no one had mastered that ability yet.
  • Han Yi purchased the Disguise Art along with spirit talismans, an Immortal Boat, and magic artifacts, then left the shop regretting the expense.

Ch. 180Blood Kin Curse Technique

After buying talismans and a new Immortal Boat in Shu Capital, Han Yi learned the Disguise Art, changed his appearance, and set out for the Mystic Pill Sect. Li Yuanyi tracked him with the Blood Kin Curse Technique and ambushed him, leaving Han Yi facing a blood-tinged sword strike.

  • Han Yi took a winding route back to his inn, inventoried his purchases, and studied the Disguise Art from the Transmission Jade Disk.
  • Han Yi mastered the Disguise Art enough to change his face and build, then left Shu Capital through the sixteenth side gate aboard his new Immortal Boat.
  • Li Yuanyi used the corpses of his two murdered clan elders and an Extreme Yin Tortoise Shell to track Han Yi, having slaughtered more than three hundred Li Clan descendants to activate the Blood Kin Curse Technique.
  • Han Yi noticed an Immortal Boat following him, but Li Yuanyi used a Teleportation Talisman to appear ahead of him and attack.
  • Han Yi escaped Li Yuanyi's first strike with his own Teleportation Talisman, identified him as the Li Clan's First Elder, and prepared to fight as Li Yuanyi's blood-tinged sword light closed in.
