Obito captured Hyuga Kagami with Kamui, but Kagami escaped using a physical clone and rescued Kurenai and Yugao. Elsewhere, Sasori survived Deidara’s explosion and vowed to hunt him down, while Deidara continued training in Iwagakure.

Danzo destroyed five of the Six Paths of Pain but escaped when Nagato’s Deva Path and Konan realized his Sharingan held unusual power. After fleeing the Land of Waterfalls, Danzo was confronted by a Kusagakure force demanding his Mangekyō Sharingan.

• Danzo’s Susanoo and Wood Release broke the Deva Path’s Planetary Devastation, and he destroyed the Human, Animal, Naraka, Preta, and Asura Paths.

Danzo entered Kirigakure claiming that Nasu Tsukiko’s soul controlled his body, but Mei Terumi and the other leaders suspected his injuries and Mangekyō Sharingan made him dangerous. Kirigakure arranged for him to meet the Fourth Mizukage, Karatachi Yagura, on Bird Crossing Island, where Danzo arrived convinced he could take control.

• Two Kirigakure Anbu escorted the badly wounded Danzo into a secret chamber beneath the Mizukage Building.
• Mei Terumi, Ao, Utakata, and other Kirigakure leaders questioned whether Nasu Tsukiko controlled Danzo and discussed the threat posed by his Mangekyō Sharingan.

• Mei Terumi received intelligence that Danzo had defeated the Akatsuki leader and Kumogakure's A-B Combination, then ordered Ao to gather Kirigakure's forces and head to Bird Crossing Island.
