Ch. 61Weakness and Helplessness

Konoha struggled against Kumogakure’s two perfect Jinchuriki as the village’s weakened forces suffered heavy losses. Meanwhile, Team Eleven reached the Land of Lightning’s border and prepared to attack a Kumogakure facility, with Kakashi insisting on carrying out the final strike alone.

  • Kakashi told Team Eleven that Iwagakure’s forces had gathered near the Land of Grass and ordered the others to cover him while he delivered the final strike.
  • Killer B overwhelmed Choza Akimichi and kept Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka’s team at bay as Konoha’s battlefield forces fell behind.
  • Aida taunted Hizashi Hyuga about his branch-family status while Hizashi struggled to counter the Storm Release shinobi.
  • Yugito Nii crushed Konoha’s attacks in her Two-Tails form, killed the remaining shinobi, and gloated that the Fourth Hokage and Nine-Tails Jinchuriki were dead.
  • Team Eleven crossed the Land of Moon and reached a valley near the Land of Lightning, where sealing formulas blocked Hyuga Kagami’s Byakugan.
  • Kakashi ordered Shisui, Guy, and Hyuga Kagami to draw away the outer guards while he attacked the target alone, and he promised to meet them at the extraction point.

Ch. 62Surprise Attack

Hyuga Kagami, Shisui, and Guy drew Kumogakure guards away from the valley’s secret warehouse while Kakashi prepared to attack it. As Kakashi charged the warehouse, Hyuga Kagami stopped to face the Kumogakure pursuers rather than lead them to the retreat point.

  • Hyuga Kagami killed two sentries and discovered that at least two hundred Kumogakure shinobi guarded the valley, far more than Team 11 had expected.
  • After Guy’s cover was blown, Hyuga Kagami used Explosive Tags and his Kusanagi Blade to attack Kumogakure search parties and draw more guards away.
  • Shisui eliminated a four-man squad and feigned an attack on the warehouse, but Kumogakure Jonin intercepted him.
  • Hyuga Kagami and Shisui retreated from the valley as Kumogakure sent separate groups after them, while Kakashi watched the defenses and waited for his opening.
  • Kakashi began his assault on the secret warehouse with Chidori, and Hyuga Kagami stopped in an open area to confront sixteen pursuers, including at least two Jonin.

Ch. 63Dazed and Rescue

Hyuga Kagami, Guy, and Shisui regrouped after defeating their pursuers and realized Kakashi was still in danger. They reached the burning Kumogakure warehouse just in time to rescue him, while Hyuga Kagami and Shisui stayed behind to face the enemy.

  • Hyuga Kagami killed the remaining Kumogakure ninja pursuing him and reached the evacuation point, where Guy and Shisui had already arrived.
  • Guy and Shisui reported defeating their pursuers, and the three realized they had killed only a little over fifty enemies while Kakashi faced more than a hundred alone.
  • Guy decided to return to the valley to help Kakashi, and Hyuga Kagami hesitated before the scene shifted to Kakashi beside the destroyed, burning warehouse.
  • A Kumogakure Jonin ordered a Chunin to execute the wounded Kakashi, but the Chunin hesitated after seeing Kakashi's Sharingan.
  • Hyuga Kagami killed the Chunin and protected Kakashi, while Guy carried Kakashi away and Shisui stayed with Hyuga Kagami to confront the Kumogakure ninja.

Ch. 64Kaiten Blade

After Kakashi fell unconscious, Hyuga Kagami took command and faced a Kumogakure force alongside Shisui. His desperate Kaiten Blade attack cut down the enemies drawn into its range, but Fukado and the other Kumogakure Jonin had used Lightning Clones, leaving the real force ready to continue the fight.

  • Guy carried the unconscious Kakashi away while Kumogakure squads pursued them, leaving Hyuga Kagami and Shisui surrounded.
  • Fukado declared that the Konoha team would die, while Hyuga Kagami prepared his poisoned Kusanagi Blade and told Shisui to activate Susanoo when they attacked.
  • Hyuga Kagami used Rotation to pull nearby enemies toward him and unleashed Kaiten Blade, while Shisui protected himself with Susanoo.
  • The Kumogakure Jonin hit by the blade vanished as Lightning Clones, and the real Fukado and other Jonin emerged from hiding.

Ch. 65Struggle of a Trapped Beast

Hyuga Kagami and Shisui fought off repeated Kumogakure attacks while trapped in Susanoo, but Shisui’s chakra was nearly exhausted. As Hyuga Kagami prepared to use his last resort, Fukado attacked them from beneath the ground with a lightning serpent.

  • Hyuga Kagami retreated into Shisui’s Susanoo as Fukado ordered the Kumogakure ninja to attack.
  • Fukado’s forces trapped Susanoo with earth walls and combined Fire and Wind Release attacks, while Shisui and Hyuga Kagami countered with chakra arrows and explosive-tagged weapons.
  • The battle devastated the surrounding Kumogakure forces, but Shisui collapsed from exhaustion while Susanoo remained intact.
  • Fukado searched for a way around Susanoo’s defenses and began forming hand seals against the ground.
  • Hyuga Kagami considered using the Physical Regeneration Secret Technique and the Third Kazekage Human Puppet to escape, but a lightning serpent erupted from a fissure toward him and Shisui.

Ch. 66Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion

After Hyuga Kagami and Shisui were paralyzed by Kumogakure’s lightning attack, Hyuga Kagami received an immense surge of Tenseigan chakra from the void and prepared to unleash Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion. On the moon, three Ōtsutsuki elders realized the Tenseigan was sending chakra elsewhere and sealed it.

  • Kurapa arrived with nearly a hundred Kumogakure reinforcements and challenged Fukado for failing to protect the burning secret warehouse.
  • Kurapa approached the powerless Hyuga Kagami to interrogate him while Shisui prepared to sacrifice a Mangekyō Sharingan to use Kotoamatsukami.
  • Hyuga Kagami sensed a familiar power, raised his hand, and received vast chakra that healed his wounds and let him activate Tenseigan Chakra Mode with Truth-Seeking Orbs.
  • Hyuga Kagami lifted Shisui into the air, gathered the nine Truth-Seeking Orbs in his palm, and announced Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion.
  • Three Ōtsutsuki elders at the shrine on the moon sensed the Tenseigan’s chakra output and sealed the giant Tenseigan.

Ch. 67The Valley Was Gone

Hyuga Kagami used the Giant Tenseigan’s chakra to unleash the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and wipe out the Kumogakure force in the valley, but the chakra supply was cut off and left him severely weakened. As Shisui carried him toward the Land of Moon, the Otsutsuki elders on the moon reactivated the Giant Tenseigan to investigate the disturbance.

  • Hyuga Kagami continued the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion after sensing surviving Kumogakure ninja, while Shisui watched in shock.
  • The Giant Tenseigan’s chakra supply was severed, but Hyuga Kagami kept fighting until he sensed no living people remained in the valley.
  • Hyuga Kagami’s Tenseigan reverted to Byakugan, and Shisui carried him toward the Land of Moon.
  • Kumogakure teams arrived at the flattened valley and found only mangled Kumogakure corpses, with no enemy bodies or survivors.
  • The three Otsutsuki elders suspected the disturbance was linked to the person who stole the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and activated the Giant Tenseigan to investigate.
  • The Giant Tenseigan’s chakra swept over Hyuga Kagami as Shisui carried him away, then continued into the distance.

Ch. 68Forbidden Lands

Hyuga Kagami and Shisui recovered in a cave with the unconscious Guy and Kakashi while the Giant Tenseigan repeatedly searched for Hyuga Kagami. On the moon, the Otsutsuki elders found no new abnormalities and decided to leave their mission to the young Toneri.

  • Shisui made fish soup for Hyuga Kagami while Guy and Kakashi lay unconscious from their injuries.
  • Hyuga Kagami detected another concealed sweep of the Giant Tenseigan and worried that the Otsutsuki descendants on the moon were searching for him.
  • The Great Elder reported that the scans had revealed no abnormalities beyond the nine forbidden lands, and the elders had found no leads on the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
  • The Great Elder said the aging Otsutsuki descendants would leave their ancestor's mission to Toneri, rejecting the Third Elder's suggestion to contact the Hyuga Clan.

Ch. 69Opening and Closing

The Third Tsuchikage investigated Konoha’s deployment and the missing Anbu Team 11 as Kumogakure unexpectedly suspended its offensive. In the Land of Hot Water, Hyuga Kagami discovered how to switch his Tenseigan on and off and found that deactivating it restored his Caged Bird Seal.

  • The Third Tsuchikage learned that Danzo commanded Konoha’s forces opposite Iwagakure and ordered Kitsuchi to investigate the absent Uchiha Police Force and Anbu Team 11.
  • Killer B, Yugito Nii, and Aida received Kumogakure’s order to suspend the offensive and speculated that something had happened in their village.
  • Shikaku Nara reported that Kumogakure had stopped attacking, and Jiraiya explained that the Third Hokage had sent direct Anbu to raid a border warehouse in the Land of Lightning.
  • Hyuga Kagami tested his eyes by a lakeside and confirmed that he could deactivate his Tenseigan and reactivate the Caged Bird Seal.

Ch. 70Team 11's Respite

Hyuga Kagami returned to Team 11’s hideout after learning to activate and deactivate the Tenseigan freely, where he discovered Kakashi had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. He reflected on his near-death battle and decided to wait until the surviving Ōtsutsuki stopped watching the area before practicing Tenseigan Chakra Mode.

  • Hyuga Kagami put away his dark goggles and returned to the cave, where Guy said he had recovered from his injuries.
  • Shisui told Hyuga Kagami that Kakashi had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, though Kakashi was unsure when it happened.
  • Shisui privately struggled with the thought that a non-Uchiha had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, but reminded himself that Hyuga Kagami’s Tenseigan Chakra Mode surpassed it.
  • Hyuga Kagami reflected on how carelessness in the valley had nearly gotten him captured and considered his new Tenseigan abilities his greatest gain from the battle.
  • Hyuga Kagami decided to lie low until the surviving Ōtsutsuki stopped using the Giant Tenseigan to watch the ground, then practice in a remote place.

Ch. 71A Thorn in the Throat

Team 11 decided to remain in the Land of Hot Water and harass Kumogakure’s rear rather than withdraw to Konoha. At the Kumogakure camp, commanders learned that Konoha had destroyed a secret warehouse and debated which of Konoha’s leaders had carried out the attack.

  • Shisui proposed that Team 11 withdraw through the ungoverned coastal region, but Kakashi pointed out that their position threatened Kumogakure’s advance.
  • Hyuga Kagami explained that Team 11’s presence could force Kumogakure to hold back its forces, and Shisui agreed that their weakened state was unknown to the enemy.
  • Team 11 agreed to stay in the Land of Hot Water and harass Kumogakure’s rear while awaiting a possible shift toward peace talks.
  • Killer B, Yugito Nii, Aida, and other Kumogakure commanders received news that Konoha had attacked four secret warehouses and destroyed one, killing more than three hundred shinobi.
  • Aida and Yugito Nii speculated that the attack had been led by the Uchiha Clan head or the Third Hokage.

Ch. 72Encirclement

After Hyuga Kagami’s attacks disrupted Kumogakure’s supply routes, Yugito Nii joined a growing force hunting Konoha’s Anbu Team 11. Hyuga escaped the pursuit and hid in a cliff crevice, but a powerful enemy abruptly destroyed his Shadow Clone, leaving him wondering who had found him.

  • Kumogakure’s leaders learned that Konoha’s Anbu Team 11 had killed hundreds of their ninja and resolved to eliminate the squad, with Yugito Nii volunteering to lead the hunt.
  • Hyuga Kagami attacked a Kumogakure transport convoy, killed its guards, and avoided the supplies’ destruction after the last Genin detonated Explosive Tags.
  • Yugito Nii arrived at the ruined convoy, found no survivors, and ordered her ninja to pursue Hyuga, who escaped by splitting from his Shadow Clone.
  • Hyuga hid in a cliff crevice, rearmed his Kusanagi Blade with poison, and considered how his attacks had slowed Kumogakure’s advance and drawn more forces into the hunt.
  • Hyuga sensed that an exceptionally fast and powerful enemy had instantly destroyed his Shadow Clone and wondered who it was.

Ch. 73Pursuit and Interception

Hyuga Kagami suspected the Fourth Raikage had joined the hunt and decided Team 11 should leave the Land of Hot Water. Yugito Nii tracked the squad to its cave and led Kumogakure shinobi inside to confront them.

  • Hyuga Kagami returned to Team 11 after destroying three supply convoys and warned that the Fourth Raikage might be in the Land of Hot Water.
  • Hyuga Kagami proposed that Team 11 return to Konoha, and Shisui and Kakashi agreed.
  • Yugito Nii and a Kumogakure Jonin used a lark to follow the scent Hyuga Kagami had left at a cliffside hiding place.
  • A sensory Jonin located three Jonin-class chakra signatures in a cave and warned that faint chakra signatures inside might indicate traps.
  • Yugito Nii led the Kumogakure shinobi into the cave, where they found Team 11 packing its gear.

Ch. 74Trap

Team 11’s trap failed to kill Yugito Nii, and the team withdrew from the Land of Hot Water. After they returned to the Land of Fire, they learned that Konoha and Kumogakure had stopped fighting and begun peace talks.

  • Hyuga Kagami and Shisui activated a trap in the cave, but Yugito Nii transformed into Matatabi and shielded the Kumogakure ninja from the explosions.
  • The Fourth Raikage told Yugito Nii that Killer B was retreating and Iwagakure might attack, then said Kumogakure should end the conflict with Konoha.
  • Hyuga Kagami, Shisui, Kakashi, and Guy withdrew toward Konoha, regretting that their trap had only caught a Jinchuriki and failed to inflict serious damage.
  • Team 11 traveled for days along the Land of Hot Water’s coastline and eventually reached the Land of Fire, where Konoha patrols informed them that Kumogakure had offered peace talks.
  • The Third Hokage accepted Kumogakure’s offer, and the two villages effectively ceased hostilities as Kumogakure’s forces withdrew from the Land of Fire.

Ch. 75Uchiha Clan Meeting

The Masked Man decided to exploit Konoha’s distrust of the Uchiha by finding a clansman to turn against the village. After returning from his mission, Shisui learned that Itachi had awakened his Sharingan and was summoned to an Uchiha meeting, where the clan debated claiming the Hokage position.

  • Zetsu told the Masked Man that Konoha and Kumogakure had begun peace talks, and the Masked Man decided to use the Uchiha to weaken Konoha.
  • Shisui returned to the Uchiha compound and told Itachi that Team 11’s actions in the Land of Lightning had helped slow Kumogakure’s offensive.
  • Itachi showed Shisui his newly awakened two-Tomoe Sharingan and said he had graduated early and fought on the battlefield.
  • Shisui attended Fugaku’s clan meeting, where Uchiha Jonin discussed Konoha’s losses and the Third Hokage’s weakened forces.
  • Several Uchiha urged Fugaku to seize the Hokage position, and Fugaku asked Shisui what he thought.

Ch. 76Bounty

Shisui opposed the Uchiha Clan’s calls for force, while Hyuga Kagami learned of the clan’s losses and agreed to help prevent a conflict between the Uchiha and the village. Hyuga Hiashi then showed Kagami two large bounties on his life, warning him to stay cautious and remain in the village.

  • Shisui warned Fugaku and the Uchiha that attacking the village would lead their clan to ruin, but the meeting ended without resolving their anger.
  • Rin told Hyuga Kagami that the Hyuga Clan had lost more than ten members, including Hyuga Kō’s father, and that Hiashi wanted to see him.
  • Hyuga Hiashi asked Kagami to use his Anbu position to prevent a clash between the Uchiha and the village, and Kagami agreed.
  • Hiashi showed Kagami bounty notices offering twenty million and twenty-five million ryō for him, and advised him not to leave the village.

Ch. 77Recruitment and Refusal

Hyuga Kagami learned that Anbu Team 11 and he had separate bounties, then rejected Danzo’s offer to join Root. After secretly inspecting Danzo with his Byakugan, Kagami discovered that Danzo had already implanted First Hokage Cells and numerous Sharingan.

  • Hyuga Kagami learned that all four members of Anbu Team 11 had twenty-million-ryo bounties and that he alone had a twenty-five-million-ryo bounty.
  • Hyuga Hiashi told Hyuga Kagami that his own black-market bounty was one hundred million ryo.
  • Shimura Danzō confronted Hyuga Kagami in an alley and offered him a place in Root.
  • Hyuga Kagami refused Danzo’s offer, citing his service under the Third Hokage, and rejected Danzo again when he warned him he would regret it.
  • Hyuga Kagami revealed that he had used the encounter to inspect Danzo and discovered First Hokage Cells and many Sharingan implanted in his arm.
  • Hyuga Kagami recalled that Danzo had overseen the village’s purge of him and concluded that Danzo had coveted the Uchiha’s Sharingan.

Ch. 78Confession

Hyuga Kagami warned Uchiha Shisui that Danzo had transplanted the First Hokage’s cells and many Sharingan, only to learn that Shisui had already revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan and Kotoamatsukami to Danzo and the Third Hokage. The chapter left Shisui realizing he might be in danger if Danzo sought a private meeting.

  • Hyuga Kagami studied the Four Symbols Seal and considered exchanging Team 11’s achievements for another Uzumaki sealing technique.
  • Hyuga Kagami met Uchiha Shisui and warned him that Danzo had transplanted the First Hokage’s cells and many Sharingan.
  • Shisui revealed that he had already told Danzo and the Third Hokage about his Mangekyō Sharingan and Kotoamatsukami.
  • Hyuga Kagami called Shisui foolish and explained that Danzo might now target him rather than trust him.
  • Hyuga Kagami warned Shisui that a private meeting requested by Danzo would likely mean Danzo intended to attack him.

Ch. 79Konoha High-Level Meeting

Hyuga Kagami warned Shisui that Kotoamatsukami made him a threat in Konoha’s eyes and urged him to avoid further mistakes. At a meeting, Danzo exposed Shisui’s ability and pushed the elders to surveil him and Team 11, while the Third Hokage accepted monitoring Shisui but resisted harsher action.

  • Hyuga Kagami told Shisui that Konoha’s leaders would fear Kotoamatsukami regardless of his loyalty and advised him to avoid unnecessary actions.
  • Hyuga Kagami warned Shisui to watch for suspicious people near the Uchiha compound, explaining that an Uchiha outsider might have controlled the Nine-Tails during its attack.
  • Kakashi reported Team 11’s mission to the Third Hokage and the advisory elders, after which the Third Hokage dismissed him.
  • Danzo revealed that Team 11 had allegedly killed more than three hundred Kumogakure ninja and disclosed Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami ability to the elders.
  • Danzo proposed coercive measures against Shisui, but the Third Hokage rejected them and agreed only to put Shisui under surveillance.
  • Danzo proposed placing every member of Team 11 on the surveillance list because they had concealed information.

Ch. 80Tenseigan Chakra Mode

Hyuga Kagami tested Tenseigan Chakra Mode in the Forest of Death, discovering its sensing and visual enhancements while measuring its chakra cost. He left with a clearer understanding of the mode’s limits and confidence that he could overcome them.

  • Danzo challenged Hyuga Kagami’s loyalty and threatened to have Root monitor him, and the Third Hokage tacitly allowed it.
  • Hyuga Kagami went to the Forest of Death, where he reunited with the scarred wild boar that had grown much larger.
  • Hyuga Kagami activated Tenseigan Chakra Mode and found that it greatly expanded his chakra-sensing range and sharpened his vision.
  • Hyuga Kagami used Rotation to pull the boar closer and infused it with Tenseigan chakra, strengthening its chakra and opening its blocked pathways.
  • Hyuga Kagami summoned one Truth-Seeking Orb and realized that maintaining the mode lasted about ten minutes, while using powerful techniques could quickly drain his chakra.
