Yugito, Samui, and Mabui washed up again, changed into fresh clothes, and walked out of that pitch-black prison.
Along the way, Mabui kept apologizing quietly to Yugito.
"I'm sorry, Yugito. It's all my fault."
"That's enough. It's not your fault," Yugito said calmly.
If anyone was to blame, it was herself for acting on her own. If she had fought alongside Lord Raikage and Lord Killer B, they might not have lost this war.
Mabui and the others would not have had to suffer like this either.
Led by an Anbu, the three arrived at a lounge in the Hokage's Office.
"Lord Shin said you only need to write down everything you should write in that notebook."
The Anbu gestured toward the pen and paper on the table.
"I understand," Yugito replied.
The Anbu left, leaving only the three of them in the lounge.
There was no fear that they would do anything. Though no one was in the room, every move they made was under surveillance. Moreover, the seals on their bodies had yet to be removed, so they could not use Chakra at all.
The main reason Yugito had managed to hold out for so long was that Konoha had not dared to interrogate her too harshly. First, they were afraid she might actually die, which would be troublesome. Second, it would be even more troublesome if the mental pressure broke her and turned her into a madwoman.
The interrogations Mabui and Samui endured were different from Yugito's. Mabui had been the first to break and compromise, saying she was willing to help Konoha persuade Yugito.
That made things much easier. Mabui felt guilty, but she was even more terrified of Konoha's methods.
