Boom!
A thunderous crash came from Konoha's main gate. Though it was noon, an enormous shadow blanketed the village. Everyone looked up and saw a colossal beast that blotted out the sky, shaped like a beetle with a huge horn on its head. Its six wings beat continuously, whipping up violent gusts.
"Six wings, one tail, shaped like a beetle... It's Chomei, the Seven-Tails Chomei!"
On Konoha's main street, Hyuga Kamado stared gravely at the enormous beast.
"This thing is way too huge!" Might Guy clicked his tongue beside him.
The gale sent objects flying through Konoha's streets, and the villagers fled in every direction in terror.
Hyuga Kamado and Might Guy stood side by side, their hair whipping wildly in the wind.
"This is going to be troublesome." Hyuga Kamado frowned.
They had anticipated many possible enemy attacks, but never one involving a tailed beast!
Guy drew a deep breath. "This big guy won't be easy to deal with, will it?"
They had both participated in the Battle of Kikyō Pass and witnessed the earth-shattering battle between the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails firsthand. That battle had turned the tide for a Konoha that had been certain to lose.
What worried Kamado was that Namikaze Minato had yet to appear.
As they spoke, the giant insect beast advanced toward Konoha. Storms raged around it, and the buildings on Konoha's outskirts began to tremble as though they might collapse.
Then, a transparent blue barrier appeared over Konoha. Though it had failed to stop the storm, it blocked the Seven-Tails Chomei's path.
"This is..."
"The Sunlight Tower control room was destroyed. It's the Energy Base Station's backup Protective Barrier," Kamado said.
"Did something happen to Kakashi?" Guy asked.
"The enemy is no ordinary opponent. Don't let your guard down, Guy."
