Ch. 222Sage's Admonition
Jiraiya heard the Toad Sage’s prophecy of a nightmare connected to Ryūchi Cave and was told he would gain a new disciple. In Konoha, Tobirama named the amnesiac red-haired boy Byakusei, while Shin considered how to monitor him and investigate his possible connection to Orochimaru.
- The Toad Sage prophesied that a voiceless beast had occupied the magpie’s nest, that Ryūchi Cave had suffered upheaval, and that the White Snake Sage had died.
- The Toad Sage told Jiraiya that his disciple would shatter the nightmare, rejected Nagato as the intended disciple, and foretold that Jiraiya would gain a new one.
- Jiraiya wondered whether Nagato was the Child of Prophecy as he and Sage Fukasaku left the Toad Sage’s hall.
- Shin questioned the amnesiac red-haired boy’s connection to Orochimaru, and Tobirama said the boy’s mind appeared blank despite his basic skills.
- Tobirama named the boy Byakusei after Shin urged him to keep the child close, and Shin offered to help control him while Anbu investigated the former Land of Whirlpools.
