After Charm Studies reached the divine level, the most obvious change was reduced mana consumption. In the past, if he wanted to show off by casting difficult, large-scale magic silently and without a magic wand, he had to keep chugging Blue Vials. Now, he no longer needed to, though using a magic wand could still save some mana. (The setting here was that magic wands could improve a wizard's control over magic.)
