White Fang brought Hyuga Ao to an abandoned training ground in the outskirts of Konoha.
When they reached a cliff face, White Fang formed a hand seal and softly shouted, "Release!"
The camouflage barrier over the cliff vanished, revealing a stone door. The door opened, and a long staircase stretched downward.
"Come in!" White Fang called. "This is one of the more public entrances. In reality, the Anbu has many hidden passages and entrances throughout the village. Come in first, and I'll introduce you."
They passed through a corridor lined with surveillance monitors and continued onward, eventually arriving at an underground plaza.
White Fang introduced the place. "This is the center of the Anbu, and serves as a transportation hub. The Anbu has many departments. You'll learn about them gradually. I'll take you to your squad first."
After winding through countless corridors, White Fang brought Hyuga Ao to a room. The moment he pushed open the door, a frivolous voice rang out.
"Captain, when are you going to find us a cute new teammate? We're bored out of our minds! Preferably a female teammate. We rough old men are sick of looking at one another every day. If that won't work, you could transfer your wife over!"
When White Fang entered, the man's words abruptly stopped as if someone had grabbed him by the throat. He coughed twice. The other teammates, who suddenly could no longer hear his voice, looked up.
"Department Head!" "Department Head?"
Amid the various greetings, White Fang smiled faintly and patted Hyuga Ao on the shoulder. Then he said to the man from before:
"The female teammate you wanted."
He then looked toward the most composed of the three.
"Shinnosuke, you should know this one. Introduce her and explain the situation. She'll be joining your squad
