Runes contained powerful might and could resist formidable outside attacks; that much was beyond doubt. But even this premise had to have its limits.
Although the Disrupting Rune Barrier protected them, Qin Fengming and the two others were not swept up by the terrifying detonation of the surrounding formation. Even so, Qin Fengming could still sense how horrifying the explosions had been.
Seeing the layer of scattered rubble and the enormous fallen rocks lying at all angles across the ground, the three of them could readily tell just how tremendous the formation's self-detonation had been.
Yet after being repeatedly swept and battered by the terrifying explosions, runes still remained on this ruined altar. A wave of delight immediately surged through Qin Fengming's heart.
"Could it be that those wisps of soul energy still contain Spirit Patterns?" Mo Ye's expression jolted. His divine sense rapidly locked onto the altar ahead, and a hesitant look flashed across his eyes as he asked.
Fairy Ying Yi also relaxed, her gaze turning toward the altar ahead.
"If those wisps of soul energy did not contain some kind of Spirit Pattern, then after enduring such terrifying explosive force, no energy could possibly have gathered together again. There should be some powerful Spirit Pattern within those wisps of soul energy."
Qin Fengming did not speak. Fairy Ying Yi was the first to speak, her brows faintly furrowed.
Qin Fengming did not answer. Instead, his figure flashed, and he flew directly toward the altar.
By now, the three of them could probe the vast cavern floor with their divine senses. The place was extremely broad, spanning more than ten miles in every direction. The ground had probably once been perfectly level, but after the violent energy impact, it had become a chaotic stretch of pits and rubble.
