Xun Er grew up beside Xiao Yan in Wutan City and remained one of his most steadfast supporters during his period of cultivation regression. She immediately accepted Bai Ge's explanation that Xiao Yan's regression was connected to his extraordinary talent as an Alchemist, then informed Xiao Yan of Nalan Yanran's identity and background. 109 110

After Xiao Yan recovered, Xun Er's playful affection became more open. She challenged him over his boasts about future admirers, then offered him the high-level Mysterious-class fire-attribute Manipulating Flame Skill. Xiao Yan instead gave her the low-level Earth-rank Li Fire Profound Mirror. 110

Her status as the Ancient Clan's young miss placed her under intense scrutiny. During her time in Central State, she warned Xiao Yan that the Tuoshe Ancient Emperor Jade could draw danger from both the Hall of Souls and factions within her own clan.
