Su Xiao pushed open the wooden hut's door. He had seen two Holy Cultivators in the Silent City, and without exception, both had been inside temporary wooden huts like this one.
The hut reeked of mold. It was about forty square meters in size, with signs that someone had once lived there.
Near the inner wall of the hut, a skeleton leaned against it. Beside the corpse was a long strip of rust, with faint golden particles visible on it. This had probably been the Holy Cultivator's weapon, but after so many years, it had weathered and corroded away.
Su Xiao held out his hand, and a long crystal staff formed. He used it to touch the Holy Cultivator's skeleton. With a light poke, he punched a hole through the skull.
Clearly, this Holy Cultivator had left nothing behind. Just as Su Xiao was preparing to leave the hut, he noticed that the skeleton was sitting on a raised stone slab.
The slab was clearly something that had originally belonged to the Silent City. It had suffered relatively little weathering. Su Xiao moved the corpse aside and found words carved into the slab.
The slab was divided into an upper and lower section. Su Xiao could not understand the writing above at all, though the carvings were neat and orderly. As for the marks below, they were obviously much more hasty, as if they had been forcibly carved with a sharp weapon. There were even annotations nearby.
The writing below had been added because this Holy Cultivator had been so bored that he translated the writing above. The translation was as follows:
'I am Kefirson, a minstrel from Rin. That's right, the City of Magic—clean, prosperous, free, the city of every elemental mage's dreams. My luggage is heavy, at least
