A figure swept swiftly across the grassland. Suddenly, it stopped.
The man seemed puzzled about something. He tapped the air in front of him a few times. This man was the Battle Angel of Apocalypse Paradise, named Vick—the drunk Vick.
Vick exhaled the smell of alcohol. The reason he had stopped was that his target had suddenly ceased moving. His opponent was a high-risk Violator, so Vick naturally had to be cautious.
From the Second Order to the Fifth Order, Vick had become highly skilled at dealing with Violators. He looked toward the low hill half a kilometer away. He had already spotted that Violator.
On the low hill, Su Xiao received the intelligence relayed by Baha. There were no other contractors nearby.
"That Violator over there!"
A loud shout came from below the low hill. Vick, wearing a brown leather jacket and a buzz cut, walked over. His expression was solemn, and he looked somewhat angry.
"We're both contractors. Why violate the rules? Isn't it better to stay alive? I'll give you a chance now. Go mine for ten worlds, and you can become a contractor again. Being hunted isn't pleasant, is it? You have to live on tenterhooks every day."
Vick's speech was extremely practiced. Clearly, he often did this sort of thing. As for his claim that mining for ten worlds would allow one to become a contractor again, half of it was true and half was false.
"..."
Su Xiao's expression was clearly a little surprised. He had been a Hunter since the First Order and had truly never negotiated with a Violator like this. Most of the time, either the Violator wanted him dead, or he wanted the Violator dead. When the two sides met, there was no unnecessary talk—they simply fought to the death.
