A faint glow shrouded the stone forest. It was very quiet inside, and there were no Temba guards stationed there. There was simply no need for them.
The only valuable thing in the stone forest was the Source Water. As for outsiders coming to steal it, even if the Temba saw them, they would let the thieves be.
Drinking the Source Water could indeed grant power, but not everyone could drink it. If one's physical constitution was not strong enough, or one's willpower was not firm enough, they would turn into a monster the instant they drank the Source Water. The "Source" within them would then immediately break free and return to the Source Pool.
The Temba who lived in Eternal Moon City began rigorously training their techniques from childhood. This was not only to temper their bodies, but also to hone their willpower.
Everything they did was preparation for drinking the Source Water. On average, only one Temba could be selected from every hundred—that was, a warrior of the Temba tribe.
On the day a Temba came of age, they would come alone to the Abyssal Serpent Manor and witness everything there. Afterward, the newly adult Temba would decide whether to drink the Source Water.
Even after drinking the Source Water, they might not obtain the power of Drowning and Immersion. Of ten Temba, roughly four would awaken Drowning and Immersion.
Of those four, around three would possess the Drowning attribute (ranged), while one would possess the Immersion attribute (melee).
An ordinary Temba who drank the Source Water would be eroded by the Source and turned into a monster after around ten to thirteen years. Before turning into a monster, they would come to the Abyssal Serpent Manor.
A Temba with the Drowning attribute would take roughly eight to
