The intense light in the distance gradually faded. Watching it disappear, Widow Xi turned and returned to the spaceship. It was getting late, and staying up was bad for her skin.
A strange scene unfolded. When the second Space-Time Power crystallized mass fell, the people from Reincarnation Paradise acted as if they had not seen it.
Meanwhile, thirty kilometers away, a large group of Contractors hurried across the wilderness at night. Nearly five hundred people traveled in silence. They were an alliance between Death Paradise and the Church. The two sides had already reached an agreement: after obtaining the Space-Time Crystals, whichever side suffered more casualties would take the next one first. The other side would get the one after that.
Neither side was worried that the other would renege on this arrangement. After all, they still had the threat of the other three factions to consider.
There was no movement from Apocalypse Paradise, and no one found this surprising. Other than the Contractors left behind at their base camp, everyone had gone mining.
At 10:17 p.m., the alliance between Death Paradise and the Church arrived at the spot where the Space-Time Power crystallized mass had fallen. Before them, the Contractors from Light Paradise had already arrived and were dispersing the contaminated Space-Time Power turbulence in the surrounding area.
When the two sides met, there was no negotiation. They immediately clashed.
A few minutes later
Boom!
The explosion was deafening. Amid the flames, a woman with wine-red hair knelt on the ground. Her fair face was covered in blood and mud. The scene she had imagined did not occur. One faction had not arrived—and that faction was supposed to be the main force against the Death and Sanctuary alliance. Without them, the alliance between Death and Sanctuary was practically invincible.
