A medium was actually the blood, hair, and so on of the person being imitated. However, the best medium was neither blood nor hair, but something the target carried with them.
After an object had been worn for a long time, it would bear its owner's aura. That was the best kind of medium. Of course, such items were difficult to obtain, and once one went missing, the owner would notice very quickly.
The Ancient Mask's disguise had no fixed duration. How long it could maintain the disguise depended on the medium used. At the shortest, it might last less than half an hour if the medium was a single strand of hair.
There was no need to worry about mediums. With Bubu Wang around, obtaining basic mediums would not be difficult. The value of the Ancient Mask depended entirely on its user's personal ability.
As powerful as this item was, it also had limitations. It could not disguise the user as the opposite sex, nor could it disguise them as a target more than twice their own size. Note that it referred to a target, not a human. In other words, the Ancient Mask was not limited to disguising the user as a human, which gave it a much wider range of applications.
