Su Xiao rose from the damp rock and walked toward the mouth of the cave.
"Ribbit."
The giant frog in the pool croaked, clearly reluctant to see him leave. It had been lonely here for a long time, and its earlier exchange with Bubu Wang had given rise to friendship in its heart. Yes, lonely and simple creatures formed friendships that easily. One shouldn't assume such friendship was false. Su Xiao reached the cave entrance, where a thin curtain of water blocked the way ahead. Sunlight filtered through it, keeping the inside of the cave from becoming dark.
He passed through the curtain, and somewhat glaring sunlight appeared before him. Su Xiao narrowed his eyes. The chirping of insects and birds entered his ears, along with the rushing sound of water.
He drew the fresh air into his lungs. The air in this world was so clean it was unbelievable. After just a few breaths, he felt as if his lungs had been washed.
Su Xiao was standing on a stone platform beside a cliff face. It was at least a hundred meters above the ground below. A waterfall of modest width flowed down behind him and poured into the round pool below. The pool connected to a river, with flower petals of various colors floating on its surface.
Su Xiao leaped from the stone platform. Before he could fall into the round pool below, the sound of something cutting through the air reached him.
"Yaa-hoo~"
Baja swooped past, grabbed Su Xiao's arm, and carried him down onto the rocks beside the round pool.
