The Chaos Legion had a total population of around 7.6 million, with 2.03 million soldiers fit for battle. Given the current situation, the Six Races Alliance wouldn't be able to destroy the Chaos Legion anytime soon.
Compared to the repeated defeats at the front, the food shortage was what the Chaos Legion truly needed to worry about. Aside from Black Molten City, the Chaos Legion still had three other major cities. As for the outlying districts, towns, villages, and the like, they were basically all gone.
The food reserves in these four major cities would last for about a month at most. The farming season was still at least two months away, and that didn't even include the time needed for crops to grow.
In other words, if the Chaos Legion held out for another month or so, it would run out of food. By then, the Chaos Legion would collapse without the enemy even needing to attack.
The starving civilians would surge toward the battlefield in great numbers, seeking to enter the central or southern regions in search of food.
Only one outcome would follow: the Chaos Legion would cease to exist, the demons and Ancient Tree Race would be slaughtered, and the gray beastfolk and snakefolk would become slaves, never able to rise again. The Empire's spells could accomplish all this.
"Mr. Byakuya, we... truly can't afford a large-scale war anymore. Our soldiers can't go onto the battlefield on empty stomachs."
Grand Lord Acadia's tone was calm. It wasn't that he didn't want to fight back; it was that he no longer had the right to do so.
"How large a war can you still support?"
Su Xiao was wearing a black-feathered cloak.
