Huxi Luo was not a Child of the World, which surprised Baja somewhat. By rights, with what he had been through, he should have received the treatment reserved for a top-tier Child of the World.
"The script's wrong. Aren't you supposed to seek revenge?"
Hearing Baja's words, Huxi Luo smiled and shook his head.
"Revenge? The Magic Association has 12,850 recorded Arcanists, and that was thirteen years ago. I'm not some chosen one from a story. If I went to the Eastern Continent, I wouldn't even get to see Rogesh. I'd be butchered by one of the other Arcanists from the Magic Association, sealed into a bottle, and delivered to Rogesh."

Baja gave Huxi Luo a thumbs-up. Beside him, Bubu Wang raised his head slightly, looking rather moved as he pondered the meaning of dog life. But he didn't ponder for long before tilting his dog head to ask what they were having for dinner. Bubu had no troubles, unless he encountered ghost-type enemies.
When darkness fell, a disturbance appeared at the second node. It was still within District 4, 5, or 6.
Taking advantage of the night, Su Xiao hurried to District 5. At night, District 5 looked completely different from during the day. Every household had its doors shut, and the windows were sealed with wooden boards. Iron bars were installed outside the boards as well, leaving only the lamplight visible through the cracks.
At night, in Districts 4 through 9, even the refugees kept their voices as low as possible while indoors. There were too many desperadoes on the streets.
Under the moonlight, ragged figures sat in the alleys and at the street corners. Trash cans had been placed in the middle of the streets.
Su Xiao leaped down from the roof of a three-story
