Su Xiao was at the edge of the Dream World. Strangely, aside from the married couple Merlos and Marcia, the Great Sage had not sent any other Beast Tribe members to ambush him here.
Su Xiao surmised that the couple must have been waiting here for quite some time after receiving the Great Sage's order. Otherwise, given the Great Sage's cautious style, he would certainly have sent many Beast Tribe members to surround and attack him.
This seemed insignificant, but it actually revealed some information: the Great Sage did not have a complete understanding of the Dream World. He had occupied this place, rather than being its true master.
The Dream World had not formed after the fact. It was a part of this world, an ancient and secret place. This also meant that the Dream World held many secrets, such as why it reset every 24 hours.
The time in the Dream World was stuck at 5:59 in the morning. Whenever that moment arrived, the hands of the clock tower would move backward. After turning back twice, they would stop precisely at 6:00 a.m.
Strictly speaking, the Dream World did not reset every 24 hours, but every 23 hours and 59 minutes. It was always missing one minute. That single minute left the Dream World with no tomorrow, only today.
Su Xiao had no intention of investigating this secret. Secrets of this sort generally shared one trait: they involved enemies or terrain that were practically impossible to overcome. For example, there might be enemies that could not be killed in either a physical or energetic sense, yet could be slain with some strange object.
Among their contractors, such enemies had a collective name: "puzzle events." When faced with one, there were only
