On the rocky shore at the border of the Clan Territory, a Three-Tails Moon Fox several times larger than a foal raced past, leaving behind trails of glowing white particles.
Riding on the back of the Three-Tails Moon Fox was the pale-faced Moon Apostle. She wore pink-and-white hooded pajamas, complete with rabbit ears on the hood. To other contractors, this was bizarre attire. For Moon Apostle, it was her usual outfit. She always hid in mission worlds and never showed her face, so naturally she wore whatever was comfortable. Only in situations like the World of Paintings would she change into a dress or something similar.
The wind howled past Moon Apostle's ears. She covered her lower abdomen with one hand, and blood had soaked a large patch of her clothing.
The Three-Tails Moon Fox carrying Moon Apostle ran extremely fast. Although it was slower than the elk Ashley she had ridden in the World of Sand, the Three-Tails Moon Fox was much more agile and could turn quickly. Once enemies closed in, it could dodge and weave around them.
"Run faster."
Moon Apostle urged it on from its back.

Moon Apostle had not initially chosen the Three-Tails Moon Fox as her mount. She had picked the Moon Lion because it could fly. At first, she had been smug about having a flying summoned beast.
