The Lord's Train slowed down. After a circle of scorching steam blasted from beneath the train, the carriage doors opened, and the slacker girl, Delona, was the first to jump out. She glanced around with lively eyes.
"Woof."
Bubu Wang chased after her. Normally, as the laziest one, he should have been the last to get off, but when Delona jumped down, she had casually yanked off his head-mounted receiver, worth thirty soul coins.
"Doggy, go fetch."
Delona threw the head-mounted receiver into the distance, clearly intending for Bubu Wang to dash over and stylishly leap up to catch it in his mouth.
Bubu Wang lowered his body slightly. His gluteus maximus and hind legs tensed as he exerted his strength. Locking onto the target, he crouched, ready to spring, swift as the wind. With a whoosh, he shot forward—then stepped on a piece of floating stone, lost his balance, and hit the ground chin-first. He followed that up by performing a spectacular headfirst somersault for everyone.
Baha appeared in the distance in an instant and easily caught the head-mounted receiver. Bubu Wang breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to look at the grand noble, Lucivar.
"Woooof!"
Bubu Wang meant for Lucivar to keep an eye on his sister. Lucivar remained silent. Ever since they entered this land where nightmares spread, he had noticed that his sister Delona had become very abnormal.
Delona had usually seemed listless. Aside from mealtimes, when she was energetic, she was indifferent to all kinds of trivial matters. When she went out, unless someone urged her along, she could sit alone on a quiet park bench for an entire day.
Delona's favorite thing was sitting alone in the dark and gazing at the even deeper darkness outside the window. She never found it boring.
