Black droplets fell from the pointed tip at the center of the domed ceiling. The Lord of the Abyss merely rose from his high seat, yet an oppressive force seemed to surge toward them from the abyss itself. Dark spirits swarmed around his feet, jostling one another as they lifted the platform. A great abyssal sword slowly rose with it.
A hand clad in a pitch-black bracer gripped the Great Abyssal Sword with a click. Dark embers silently fluttered upward. As the great sword was drawn, the entire hall trembled. The giant gears in the dome began turning with a series of clicks, forcing the walls behind the hall to retreat with thunderous rumbles and making the already spacious hall even wider.
The great sword fully left its base. Its blade gave a soft ring. The entire sword was pitch-black, with a bright-red line running along the center of its spine from just below the tip to the slightly upturned guard. At the end of the hilt was a dark-blue gemstone about the size of an egg.
Wisps of darkness rose from the floor of the hall. Faintly, one could hear the epic lament of dark banshees, as well as the deep rumble of abyssal matter flowing beneath the hall.
