As soon as my voice faded, the tree spirit appeared before me again, still with her palms pressed together. But soon, she slowly solidified, transforming into a nun with a shaved head, clad in a white kasaya covered in jewels. The nun had delicate features, though she was not particularly beautiful.
"These heavens and earth will be destroyed in one fell swoop. Can you save the world?" the nun asked me calmly, her eyes closed.
I nodded and said, "If I do not enter hell, who will? Whether this world can be saved or not, I will do everything in my power to save it. I wonder, Senior, does that answer put your mind at ease?"
"Until death puts an end to it?" The nun opened her eyes. They were beautiful, as if marvelous radiance lay hidden within them. Truly worthy of being the Divine Wonder Treasure Tree.
"Yes. I will fight the corruption until death." I answered without hesitation. The nun nodded and said, "What you took was the aura of the tree's veins, while I am the great tree spirit given form. Take its aura, then. But I need you to agree to one condition."
I thought it over. Something this cheap could not be accepted too readily; I had to make things clear first. So I said, "Please state it plainly, Senior."
"I want to follow you until you save the world. If you fail to save the living beings of these heavens and earth, I will not let you off lightly. Do you agree?" the nun asked righteously.
This time, I nodded without hesitation. "It is not only this world that must be saved. Wherever the corruption has polluted, I will go and save it. Senior, you may rest assured."
The nun nodded, then drifted gracefully
