Ling Tong did not care in the slightest that I cursed him. He only stopped after lashing me several dozen times, leaving me grimacing in pain and feeling awful all over.
I struggled to crawl back up. My clothes had already become strips of cloth, leaving me indecently exposed. Ling Tong had no intention of giving me new clothes either, so I could only wander around dressed like a beggar.

I picked up the warrant from the ground and looked at it. It was filled with the same "thou" and "I" phrases he had recited earlier, along with many strange seals.
Ling Tong smiled smugly, his face full of anticipation for the show: "See that? This is a warrant, personally written by the City God and stamped with his official seal. It can summon souls directly from the mortal world. Whether you're an emperor or a general, a god or a living Buddha, once your lifespan ends, I can call you here!"
