That shout had clearly attracted some enormous monster. Sure enough, within the thick fog, a gigantic shadow—large as a hill—kept growing bigger and bigger!
Perhaps because it had rushed over after hearing me shout, its target was also perfectly clear!
I sucked in a cold breath as I looked at the sword in my hand and swallowed involuntarily. There was no need to ask—running for my life was my only choice. I didn't want to waste too much energy on this monster, but as I sprinted wildly, it was clearly much faster than me. Before I had gone very far, the hill-sized monster plunged down from the sky!
As I watched the shadow descend, I instantly leaped out of its attack range!

Because of that leap, I finally got a clear look at the monster. Its entire body was covered in crystal hide, each plate as hard as a dragon scale. Its head bore something that looked neither like sheep horns nor cow horns, hanging at an angle. It looked rather imposing, but its eyes had actually grown at the tips of those two horns. That was enough to make anyone feel their obsessive-compulsive tendencies acting up.
It seemed those horns truly weren't meant for attacking. But don't assume that abandoning the ability to attack by charging meant it was harmless. Although this monster had six limbs, they were incredibly agile. It ran on four legs, while the two forelimbs were long and flexible, looking like a pair of enormous claws. The consequences of being caught by them went without saying.
