My tentacles put pressure on the Gale Dragon. It kept flapping and darting about, moving with a flexibility and speed that seemed impossible for a creature of its size. Yet this thing was far faster than ordinary Gale Beasts, and it was far from stupid. Even as it raced around wildly, it could kick up sand and stones to block my vision, then seize the chance to pounce at me. This was hardly an action pattern an ordinary Gale Beast should have.

But I was determined to get it, because I possessed a Ghost Gu body and powerful defenses, so I had no fear of ordinary sand-and-stone attacks. It could flap and thrash however it liked—as long as it did not strike me with its claws, I simply did not care. However, this Gale Dragon had clawed wings, and both its methods of attack and movement were out of the ordinary. No wonder this thing could no longer be called a beast. Anything called a dragon had attack methods unique to dragons.

Several times, it pounced and missed, only for me to smack its back with my spear-sword. Of course, I was not trying to knock it unconscious. I was aiming for its reverse scales. Once I triggered them, the Gale Dragon would stay and entangle itself with me out of fury, giving me a chance to keep it tied down. However, this fellow was not only astonishingly fast, it also seemed to know my intentions perfectly, easily dodging every attempt I made.

It seemed there was no way to take it down without engaging it at close quarters!

So when it pounced at me and lashed out with its tail, my tentacles immediately wrapped around it. I lunged straight onto its broad, sturdy back!
