The roar shook the earth as though it were splitting the heavens and opening the world. The furious bellow of the primordial beast, the legendary ferocious beast, sent shockwaves through the surrounding swarm of ants. They collapsed like buildings being toppled one after another. The ants could no longer remain calm. They seemed to be searching for something, hoping for something, and before long, they actually began standing there in a daze.
Chu Jiao and I exchanged a glance. We had both guessed what had happened. Sure enough, after confirming that the ant queen was completely dead, the swarm erupted into chaos. Ants began biting and tearing at one another without end. Some had their heads crushed by their mandibles; others had their abdomens or limbs severed. All kinds of slaughter unfolded before our eyes. Tens of thousands of ants pounced viciously upon their own companions, and the sight made Chu Jiao and me tremble with fear.
The ants had no time for us. They slaughtered their own kind in a frenzy, while Chu Jiao and I swept them aside with our weapons and fought our way out through a road of blood.
After completing its task of killing the ant queen, the Gale Dragon also began wiping out the surrounding swarm. When we reached it, I found its entire body covered in a thin layer of purple crystal. However, the crystals seemed to be gradually turning transparent, as some blue-black aura continuously erased their color until they slowly became clear.
