The three of us had all seen a human silhouette. That was beyond doubt, so we charged together toward the place where it had vanished. But the moment we reached it, the ground gave way with a crash, and all of us plunged into the ant nest on the level below!
Sand and dust suddenly came pouring down. The three of us and the Gale Beast had failed to notice the "trap," and we all fell through at once. On top of that, the Gale Dragon, panicking, whipped up the sand around us with its wings, leaving everyone covered from head to toe in dust.
"Ptooey, ptooey!" Blue Stone and Chu Ruo wiped their faces while spitting sand out of their mouths. I was just as miserable, but fortunately, the Gale Dragon was extremely alert. It took to the sky before it even landed, and the enormous gusts it stirred up blew all the sand away. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have looked any less wretched than the two of them.
Looking down from above, I still couldn't find any trace of the figure. They had arrived without a sound and left just as mysteriously.
"Brother Xia! There's a passage here!" Chu Ruo hurriedly shouted.
"You silly girl! That's the tunnel of an ant nest! How could there not be a passage? There are two of them, one in front and one behind!" Blue Stone said gloomily.
"You're the silly one! Of course I know it's an ant nest! But what if they went into it?" Chu Ruo snapped. In truth, she really hadn't noticed that possibility at first, but she hadn't been slow to react either.
"Then how about we split up and chase them from both ends? If she really went into the tunnel, we can catch her!" Blue
