This underground grotto was of course not aboveground, but deep beneath the earth. As for the ceiling, even when I leaped high into the air, I still couldn't touch the top. Instead, enormous luminous bodies resembling stone crystals were embedded in it, though after countless years, they had grown dim, like stars!
The distance was roughly several hundred zhang above where I stood. Going by my imagination, the city's layout deserved to be called super-sized. Those crystal-like lamps must have shone brilliantly in the previous civilization; it was only now that they had dimmed and turned the place into night.
As I explored, the underground city turned out to be utterly different from anywhere I'd seen before. Strange black plants that had never appeared aboveground grew everywhere around me. They seemed highly heat-resistant, and as though they had grown for countless years. When I touched them, they were as rigid as crystal.
I plucked one off and discovered that although these plants looked lifelike, they had actually all been carbonized!
I walked through this black woodland. In the distance, quite a few trees had been shaken down and carbonized, and there were even some ruins of buildings!
I wondered how vast this underground city was, and why some sections contained empty pockets while other places had been completely submerged by Azure Jade Slurry. It was simply too mysterious. This unimaginable terrain brought to mind a colossal ship, or perhaps a spaceship.
I had built spaceships before as well. To withstand attacks, a massive hull would be divided into various compartments. Once a compartment in one area was breached, the remaining compartments would still provide protection, isolating any gas or liquid that leaked into the hull. That explained the situation in this great city.
Boom!
Just as I was giving free
