It seemed that with the Six Paths Sovereign seizing the main soul, things had temporarily fallen into a stalemate here. In truth, however, the battlefield would not stop just because of a small, localized victory. Otherwise, it would not be called a Heavenly Dao War. This long war often proceeded in cycles of several years or even decades. Once it entered a state where neither side would rest until the other was destroyed, it would not stop until the end.
The borders of every side were still locked in unending conflict. Devouring and counter-devouring were happening everywhere. Overall, the battlefield had indeed changed from the fierce tearing and biting at the beginning into a slow advance-and-retreat struggle. The Heavenly Dao Heaven was being intercepted by the Jade Pure and Grand Pure Sovereigns, while the Six Paths Heaven was being held back by the Supreme Pure Sovereign and the Genesis Heaven. On top of that, after suffering an impact capable of lifting a sword to prop up the sky, falling into a war of attrition had become unavoidable.
Yet internal strife within a faction was bound to bring tremendous changes to the battlefield outside. The Cosmic Sovereign was surely delighted to see this happen. Our discord was of enormous significance to him. He did not need to seek opportunities to divide and encircle us; he only had to steadily nibble away at us from the outside.
Thus, while our internal factions were locked in a great battle, the Sun Radiance Immortal Venerable's region also began to launch a fierce assault on the Grand Pure Immortal Venerable's side. Meanwhile, in the regions of the Heavenly Dao Heaven and the Six Paths Heaven, their movements gradually slowed as well. It was said that this was to divert some Dao Foundation universes to deal
