"Junior? Heh heh, I'm afraid you'd drop dead from fright if I told you." After saying this coldly, I continued refining the embryonic breath on my own. As its name suggested, embryonic breath was the breathing of a Nascent Soul's fetal heart. It was like the human way of cultivation: a human Nascent Soul had its own method of breathing, while a Heavenly Dao Nascent Soul naturally had another.
The so-called primordial embryo formed from restrained breathing, while breath rested within the existing embryo. When breath entered the spirit, that was life; when the spirit departed and left the body, that was death. When the Dao embryo died, the breath ceased. This innate embryonic breath was a trace of qi left behind when a living being with an innate Dao embryo lost its form, yet its embryo had not been completely extinguished.
Though this wisp of innate embryonic breath looked weak, its actual use was tremendous. The innate Dao embryo itself possessed its own method of circulating qi. Thus, once one could learn to refine it into one's body, one could imitate the way an innate Dao embryo formed and took shape, thereby creating one's own Nascent Soul.
At that moment, when I sensed the embryonic breath, I gave it a certain amount of power and allowed it to fully display its original appearance. Naturally, this gave the embryonic breath the ability to speak—but that was also something I had granted it.
The reason I granted it that power was to nurture the embryonic breath and completely replicate its breathing. After all, even if only remnants remained, as long as its form had not vanished, allowing it to recover completely would make it breathe according to the appearance of its original innate embryonic breath.
Likewise, the more complete the replication,
