This place was at least one or two thousand zhang above the ground. I turned back to look at the mountaintop hot spring. This would have been a holy tourist site too, if anyone could climb up here.
Yet everything on the ground felt fresh to me, because I had never seen any of the vegetation or trees before.
I took a deep breath and leaped straight down. As I plunged into the wind, the moisture in the air made me feel as though I had plunged into water. With such an abundance of rain, it was certain to give rise to all kinds of enormous plants.
Sure enough, when I was almost down to the ground, I saw some giant trees twisted like vines, sprawling across the mountain hollow. They could even writhe on their own, almost like animals.
Some animals in the woods also flew past in groups, as though my presence as a stranger was not surprising in the slightest.
Once I got a clear look, I discovered that they were animals resembling flying monkeys.
Their wings had sharp, pointed tips and resembled those of bats. There was no doubt that their species fit perfectly with nature.
The flying monkeys chattered noisily, vanishing from sight in just a few movements.
I did not have time to catch up with them either, and landed on the ground.
The trees here had flourishing vines, and their leaves were enormous. Even the dead leaves on the ground were remarkably tough.
I did not spend much time observing everything around me. Instead, I focused on trying out various combinations of spells while running and leaping.
Before long, my speed was as swift as a gale, but I was still some distance from true flight.
