"Oh? That's a pretty steep price. Leaving aside whether I can get out myself, taking you with me would make it at least a whole level harder. Tell me, just how big a secret would justify that difficulty?" I couldn't help chuckling.
Hongshu flushed a little, but she seemed very confident in her secret and insisted, "I'm telling the truth! As long as you take me out of the tower, this secret will benefit you for the rest of your life."
I met her unwavering gaze and said, "You've mentioned your background, but I really can't imagine what sort of opportunity you could have found in a place like this."
"I know you might not believe me. How about this? If, after we get out, I can't give you something you consider sufficient, you can kill me! With your abilities, killing me should be easy, shouldn't it?!" Hongshu said hurriedly.
"Hmm? I'll hold you to that." Could this girl really have some incredible secret? Although taking her along would be a burden, she was fast and came from a powerful family. There might indeed be something she could help with outside.
"You can!" Hongshu said hastily.
I turned back and said calmly, "Clean this place up. From now on, we're teammates."
"Huh?! All right! But... aren't you worried I'll pocket the loot here?!" Hongshu seemed unsure what I was thinking.
"If you want to leave the tower, this loot is just a drop in the ocean. No matter how much you get, it won't do much to help you escape. Look ahead and do what you think you should." I strode onward.
Hongshu stood stunned for a moment, then hurried to gather what had been left behind. "I understand! I won't hold you back!"
I gave Hongshu no further instructions.
