"I think so too," Yun Tianmu added, trying to scare him.
The boy's face instantly turned ashen, and he dove back into the seal.
"Looks like you won't shed a tear until you see your coffin." I immediately injected several streams of immortal qi into the seal in my hand, then took out a dead-leaf knife.
The boy cried out in terror from inside, "Stop!"
Hiss! A scratch cut across the seal, but it quickly returned to its original state. That was no obstacle for me, though. The instant I cut it open, I condensed my immortal power and branded it inside. This indirect method of modification normally would not work, because even if incompatible runes invaded it, they could not remain and would be expelled.
But my immortal patterns fitted into the seal in a peculiar way, even linking up with the lines of several existing immortal patterns. This effectively changed the contents of the Nation-Guarding Seal.
Sensing this, the Nation-Guarding Seal could no longer remain calm. Seeing that I had no intention of stopping, the boy could only hastily manifest himself. By now, his dead-fish eyes had become thoroughly earnest.
"Heh, now you know what I'm capable of? I actually have more advanced tricks, but this is enough to deal with you." I chuckled, then held the seal up to the light to examine it, looking as though I was giving him a few minutes to think.
Terrified, the boy hurriedly said, "I'll do what you say!"
"Complete obedience, or what?" I looked unimpressed.
"Complete obedience! But there have to be limits! Use the Immortal Kingdom as a reference! Otherwise, my seal body won't hold up! Using me requires tremendous power! Without the strength of an entire nation, I'll break after a single use!" the boy hurriedly explained.
