Before the Immortal Kingdom's combat tournament began, not only had the ten great academies brought the demon crystals they had collected, but the smaller academies had brought their own as well.
Clearly, everyone wanted a share of the spoils. To ensure that the demon crystals they had brought would not go to waste, the smaller academies even produced portals to their secret realms. Their thorough preparations took everyone else by surprise.
Turning demon crystals into Dao Inquiry Stones might have been difficult for my former self and taken a great deal of time, but it posed no difficulty to me now. Still, to make them think it was no easy task, I planned to wait until the teleportation arrays were properly installed and the tournament had ended before distributing them.
Naturally, the academy heads had no objections. They began having the specialists who accompanied them set up the teleportation points in an orderly fashion.
The Dao Spirit Institute had a weak foundation, so it naturally received the largest share. The other branch institutes each received some secret realms as well, all allocated fairly. Wei Geng was skilled at gauging the various branch institutes' thinking, and his allocations suited their needs perfectly.
Although the combat tournament was the greatest public event in this realm, to me it was merely a way to select fresh blood for the Immortal Kingdom. Many elite disciples emerged, but without any appearance of Hero's Blood, I had little interest.
So the combat tournament proceeded according to its rules, while Yun Cangran and I picked out some of the better secret realms and made an initial selection of resources to strengthen the academy. At the very least, before leaving, we wanted to finish the things the academy would never be able to accomplish on its own.
