"Flirting? When did that happen?" I froze for a moment, then looked at Bei Mu in confusion.

Bei Mu looked aggrieved under my gaze and hurriedly said, "When we were outside..."

"Hm? Did we?" I nearly craned my neck out.

"What? You dare do it but not admit it?" Yun Cangran's face was full of amusement.

"If there was something, I'd rather you say it outright." I looked thoroughly depressed. I wasn't taking the blame for this.

Seeing that I had no intention of covering for her, Bei Mu felt somewhat aggrieved, but strangely enough, she didn't jump up.

Her flighty personality had changed quite a bit.

"So that means there really wasn't anything?" Yun Cangran seemed unsurprised. Then she added, "She said you might not admit it."

Bei Mu wore a hesitant expression. She wanted to speak but stopped herself, yet she also seemed to have the attitude of a dead pig that wasn't afraid of boiling water.

"Heh, forget it. The little one must have pestered you quite a lot these past few years while trying to think of a way, huh?" I shook my head and laughed bitterly.

"Hmph, tell me about it. I was utterly defeated. From the start, I knew that someone who showed kindness for no reason was either plotting something or up to no good. One day she'd massage my back, and the next she'd invite me to stroll through the gardens. I really had to hand it to her." Yun Cangran was speechless.

"At least you weren't bored. You had someone to keep you company." I laughed.

"She thought I didn't know what she was after. She could have just said it outright, but instead she went to such lengths. Still, she did learn quite a lot of things because of it."
