Her Arrival

This was Madara Uchiha's hidden contingency plan. But it wasn't limited to this single "seed" that was sprouting. He had also left a seal over Ye Zi's heart.

That seal could neither control Ye Zi nor directly make his heart explode. Instead, it could amplify his willpower. For example... I must not die.

But to Ye Zi, this seal was better than nothing.

Once a person died, nothing remained. Ye Zi had understood this principle long ago. That was why he had survived multiple brushes with death—the strength of his will had always played a part.

"Do you think... you can control me?" Ye Zi's body had stiffened in place. His limbs could no longer move according to his will. He was the key to restoring Ye Zi's limbs, as well as the reason Ye Zi had mastered Wood Release so quickly. After lying dormant for so many years, he had long since fused with Ye Zi's limbs. He should have been able to seize control of them with ease, but Ye Zi's will was simply too powerful, forcibly overriding the physical responses.

As long as he controlled Ye Zi's arms and made them form the hand seals for the Reanimation Technique, his mission as the hidden contingency plan would be perfectly accomplished.
