Ch. 2901The Edge of Paper Crane Space
Key plot points and events
- Great Emperor Glazed Glass asks to enter Paper Crane Space. Little Crane admits it does not know whether others can enter, since only it and Fang Chen have managed to do so.
- Fang Chen and Little Crane bring the group into the space inside Little Crane, then successfully cross a spatial passage into Paper Crane Space with everyone.
- The group emerges beneath colorful clouds made of countless paper cranes, above vast forests whose leaves are shaped like cranes. Little Crane confirms it suffers no backlash or mysterious-law suppression.
- Fang Chen has Little Crane release Myna bird first as a test. Myna feels a strange spatial pressure but can withstand it, so the rest of the group is released and also manages the pressure.
- Fang Chen points out the Green Bronze Coffin and Black Coffin. His powerful Spiritual Sense can locate both, but gray mist blocks its reach beyond their surrounding regions. Those regions form two forests: a seven-colored one around the Green Bronze Coffin and a dark forest around the Black Coffin.
- The others cannot extend their Spiritual Sense beyond their bodies. They are surprised when Fang Chen says he can sense both forests, including the previously unknown Dark Forest.
Character developments
- Fang Chen demonstrates his unusual spiritual power: although his overall combat strength is at the Eighth-Revolution Immortal Emperor level, his Spiritual Sense rivals that of a Ninth-Turn Immortal Emperor. His strength comes from his exceptional soul, unique cultivation path, fused Eight Origins, and Floating Immortal Sword.
- Little Crane shows it can bring the entire group into Paper Crane Space without suffering apparent harm.
- Myna bird serves as the first test subject and proves capable of resisting the space’s pressure.
Significant themes
- Exploration of the unknown: The group enters a mysterious realm and encounters unfamiliar landscapes, laws, and boundaries.
- Uneven power and perception: Fang Chen’s exceptional Spiritual Sense lets him perceive areas and features hidden from the others.
- Caution and trust: Fang Chen tests the space with Myna before exposing the whole group to it.
Character interactions
- Glazed Glass asks Fang Chen for permission to explore; he consults Little Crane, who decides to try bringing everyone.
- Fang Chen directs the group to wait while he and Little Crane prepare the crossing, then checks Little Crane’s condition and cautiously tests the realm with Myna.
- The group reacts with wonder to the paper-crane landscape, then compares their inability to sense beyond themselves with Fang Chen’s far greater reach.
