Ch. 3021Stop Stalling

Key plot points and events

  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm dodges Fang Chen’s Heavenly Buddha Seal and believes the altar’s laws will erase its tracking mark. Fang Chen accepts that the seal is fading, but reveals his real plan: the invisible Universe Curse Seals are still entering her body.
  • The altar’s energy steadily dwindles. The Worm attacks Fang Chen with amber finger-blades, but his Floating Immortal Sword absorbs fragments of the altar’s power, strengthening him while weakening her.
  • They clash at close range. As the altar’s lights and pillar-glow fade, the Worm’s confidence gives way to unease, while Fang Chen’s aura rises.
  • Inside Spirit Crane Space, Great Emperor Huo Li convulses as silver Dao Patterns peel away. The myna bird warns that his seal on Huo Li is nearly failing and urges Fang Chen to end the fight quickly. Fang Chen responds by sharpening his gaze and changing his Sword Momentum.

Character developments and interactions

  • Fang Chen remains composed under pressure, relying on patience and timing rather than the fading tracking seal. Once told Huo Li is in danger, he becomes urgent and shifts tactics.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm begins arrogantly, trusting the altar’s protection, but her composure falters as she realizes its energy is draining and Fang Chen is growing stronger.
  • The myna bird recognizes the danger to Huo Li and sends an urgent warning through Little Crane; Little Crane relays it to Fang Chen. Ye Qingci asks the myna bird what is happening to her master.

Significant themes

  • Erosion and reversal of power: The Worm’s strength wanes as Fang Chen’s grows, turning the altar’s advantage against her.
  • Patience and hidden strategy: Fang Chen’s apparent focus on one seal conceals his more important plan with the Universe Curse Seals.
  • Urgency and responsibility: The danger to Huo Li raises the stakes and forces Fang Chen to stop prolonging the battle.

Ch. 3022Igniting the Universe Curse Seal!

Key plot points and events

  • Fang Chen endures the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm’s relentless attacks until the Altar’s energy begins to run out. As its suppressive force fades, he regains strength and counterattacks with precise sword strikes.
  • His Floating Immortal Sword and Return to Ruin Sword Intent repeatedly pierce the Worm’s weakening amber defenses. The Altar’s pillars, crystal walls, and runes gradually go dark, leaving its energy reserves exhausted.
  • With the advantage shifted in his favor, Fang Chen prepares to finish the fight. The Worm, despite having lost much of her power, reveals a hidden final move: Chaos Sacrifice.
  • She channels her remaining power and Soul Origin into the Altar, causing it to surge back to life and crack with light. Fang Chen realizes she is sacrificing herself to fight to the death and activates the Universe Curse Seal within her.

Character developments

  • Fang Chen shifts from defending under pressure to controlling the battle. His patience and precise swordsmanship let him exploit the Worm’s weakening defenses, and he stays alert even when victory seems near.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm loses her composure and much of her strength as the Altar drains away. Rather than surrender, she commits to a desperate, self-sacrificing gamble.

Significant themes

  • Endurance and reversal: Fang Chen survives an overwhelming assault and turns the tide when his opponent’s power source fails.
  • Resource dependence and sacrifice: The Worm’s strength is tied to the Altar, and when it is spent, she risks her own essence to restore its power.
  • Vigilance before victory: Fang Chen recognizes that a seemingly defeated enemy may still have a dangerous final move.

Character interactions

  • Fang Chen’s counterattacks force the Worm to abandon her confident, emperor-like bearing and resort to Chaos Sacrifice.
  • The Worm announces her final technique, while Fang Chen responds by activating the Curse Seal already embedded within her, setting up the next phase of their confrontation.

Ch. 3023The Underground Space Collapses

Key plot points and events

  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm breaks Fang Chen’s Universe Curse Seal using a gray-white flame within her Natal Spirit Pearl.
  • As she completes a Sacrifice to the Altar, its ancient Runes awaken and the underground space’s Laws begin to collapse. Fang Chen’s sword cannot penetrate the Altar’s invisible barrier.
  • The Worm explains that the Sacrifice can no longer be stopped, then dissolves into amber motes that the Altar absorbs.
  • Sensing a devastating force gathering, Fang Chen changes tactics and attacks the Altar’s central Rune pattern with One Sword Returns to Ruin.
  • His strike triggers a massive explosion. The Altar shatters, the pillars fall, and the Dome and Crystal Walls break apart. Fang Chen is hurled into a wall, badly wounded and coughing dark-gold blood.

Character developments and interactions

  • Fang Chen moves from trying to stop the Worm’s Sacrifice to attempting to destroy the Altar’s core once he realizes the ritual is unstoppable. He remains determined despite the danger, but is severely injured by the resulting blast.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm proves immune to Fang Chen’s sealing technique and reveals the limits of his power. Though her body vanishes in the Sacrifice, she leaves him with a final, ominous “gift.”
  • Their confrontation ends not with a direct victory for either, but with the Altar’s destruction and the underground space collapsing around them.

Significant themes

  • Sacrifice and irreversible choices: The Worm gives up her Soul Origin and remaining power to activate the Altar.
  • Escalating ancient forces: The Altar’s awakening suggests a power far older and greater than the Worm herself.
  • Adaptation under pressure: Fang Chen abandons an impossible goal and attacks the source of the danger instead.
  • Uncertain consequences: The Altar is shattered, but the collapse leaves the outcome—and the nature of the force it was releasing—unclear.

Ch. 3024Against the Samsara Vortex

Key plot points and events

  • Fang Chen’s strike shatters half the altar’s core runes and interrupts the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm’s sacrifice. Her Soul Origin dissolves into the altar’s energy cycle, leaving her without a separate body or soul, but the altar retains dangerous, unstable power.
  • To prevent the damaged altar from unleashing that energy, Fang Chen uses One Sword Samsara, forming a vast vortex that devours the surrounding Blue Crystal fragments and pulls in the fallen stone pillars.
  • The altar resists fiercely, its remaining runes and amber energy forming a shield against the vortex. The Worm’s will persists through the altar, and she taunts Fang Chen, insisting he cannot overcome it.
  • Fang Chen remains composed, recites the Myriad Buddhas War Scripture, and pours more strength into his Floating Immortal Sword. The vortex intensifies, cracking the altar’s shield and stripping away its runes. The confrontation is still unresolved at the chapter’s end.

Character developments

  • Fang Chen demonstrates strategic control: rather than simply attacking the unstable altar, he tries to contain and remove it with his Samsara technique. He stays calm under the Worm’s threats and steadily increases his power.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm is reduced to a desperate, disembodied will bound to the altar. Her former confidence gives way to fury and unease as Fang Chen’s technique begins to break through her defenses.

Significant themes

  • Persistence and restraint: Fang Chen faces a dangerous threat through controlled, sustained effort rather than impulsive force.
  • Power and dependence: The Worm’s immense strength proves tied to the altar, which becomes both her weapon and her vulnerability.
  • Defiance under pressure: The Worm attacks Fang Chen psychologically, but his resolve does not waver.

Character interactions

  • The Worm speaks to Fang Chen from within the altar, challenging his ability and boasting of her age and power.
  • Fang Chen does not engage in argument; he answers through action, maintaining the vortex until the altar’s defenses begin to fracture.

Ch. 3025She Panicked!

Plot points and events

  • The Samsara Vortex’s suction intensifies, cracking the Altar’s amber protective barrier, while the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm insists the Vortex cannot harm her.
  • Fang Chen answers her taunts with the Heaven Mending Goddess Manifestation. It turns both the Black Stone and Colored Stone in one hand, then repeatedly hurls the Black Stone at the Altar.
  • Each impact damages the Altar and directly hurts the Worm, whose soul is fused with it. The Altar keeps forcing itself away from the Vortex, but Fang Chen combines the attacks with a fluctuating rhythm of power through the Floating Immortal Sword, destabilizing the Altar’s defenses.
  • Under the repeated blows and the Vortex’s pull, the amber barrier finally shatters. The exposed Altar begins to be drawn into the Vortex, which starts breaking apart its runes and energy nodes.

Character development and interactions

  • Fang Chen remains defiant despite the Worm’s insults and the severe strain of maintaining both the sword technique and the Goddess Manifestation. His shifting energy rhythm shows tactical adaptability as well as endurance.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm’s confidence erodes into fury, then genuine panic as her fused Altar is damaged and dragged toward destruction.
  • Little Crane, Myna bird, Qingci, Great Emperor Glazed Glass, and the others cheer Fang Chen on, encouraging him to finish the Worm.

Significant themes

  • Persistence under pressure: Fang Chen keeps fighting through intense physical and spiritual pain.
  • Arrogance turning to fear: The Worm’s certainty collapses when her defenses fail.
  • Power through coordination: Fang Chen combines the Samsara Vortex, Floating Immortal Sword, and Goddess Manifestation to overcome an enemy that could resist any one tactic alone.

Ch. 3026Devouring Success!

Plot points and events

  • Fang Chen uses the Floating Immortal Sword to intensify the Samsara Vortex, which steadily pulls the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm’s altar toward its center.
  • The Worm threatens to destroy the altar—and the surrounding Chaos Space—by detonating its Core Formation Runes. Fang Chen calls her bluff and keeps up the pressure.
  • The Worm tries to activate the runes, but the vortex consumes most of her strength, preventing the runes from working together.
  • The Heaven Mending Goddess repeatedly strikes the altar with the Black Stone, breaking its surface, runes, and Energy Nodes.
  • The vortex ultimately swallows the entire altar, along with the Worm’s remaining presence. It then contracts as the damaged Space Law begins to settle and the void’s rifts start closing.

Character developments

  • Fang Chen remains calm and persistent despite the strain on his soul, pressing his advantage rather than responding to the Worm’s threats.
  • The Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm shifts from imperial confidence to desperation, then disbelief and apparent defeat as her power and altar are consumed.

Significant themes

  • Persistence overcoming power: Fang Chen’s sustained effort defeats an ancient, formidable opponent.
  • Desperation and loss of control: The Worm’s threats become ineffective as the vortex steadily limits her choices.
  • The cost of resistance: The Worm’s deep bond with the altar makes its destruction inseparable from her own fate.

Character interactions

  • The Worm tries to frighten Fang Chen into stopping, first warning of catastrophic destruction and then threatening self-detonation.
  • Fang Chen answers with defiance and action, refusing to negotiate.
  • The Heaven Mending Goddess supports Fang Chen by repeatedly battering the altar while he maintains the vortex.

Ch. 3027Even Little Grass Was Powerless

Fang Chen destroyed the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm and returned to the Green Grass Great Array with Great Emperor Huo Li, whose soul origin was rapidly deteriorating. Little Grass found that her life force could not stop the damage because it was burning from within Huo Li’s soul.

  • Fang Chen annihilated the Chaos Thousand-Eyed Worm and left the ruined Chaos Space with Little Crane and Myna bird.
  • Myna bird warned Fang Chen that Huo Li’s seal was loosening and his soul origin was draining away.
  • Fang Chen and Little Crane returned to the Green Grass Great Array and brought Huo Li out of the Spirit Crane Space.
  • Fang Chen summoned Little Grass to examine Huo Li as Ye Qingci, Myna bird, the Chaos Heart-Devouring Worm, and others watched.
  • Little Grass tried to heal Huo Li, but dark red power vaporized her life force, and she determined the damage came from his soul origin.

Ch. 3028A Way to Save Him

Ye Qingci, Fang Chen, and the gathered experts tried to stop Great Emperor Huo Li’s burning Soul Origin, but none of their methods worked. Fang Chen recalled that Huo Li had been drawn to the Chaos Evil Dragon Beast King and proposed searching its remains for something that could save him.

  • Little Grass and Myna bird explained that they could not stop Huo Li’s Soul Origin from burning and that Myna bird’s seal would eventually fail.
  • Fang Chen asked Little Grass to summon the experts, and she gathered Great Emperor Azure Origin, Chaos Great Emperor, Star Emperor, Yaochi Great Emperor, Palace Mistress Lingxin, and others.
  • The experts tried medicine, soul inspection, suppressive powers, stellar seals, and purification, but Huo Li’s dark red sword intent defeated every attempt.
  • Fang Chen recalled that Huo Li had charged into the Chaos Space toward the Chaos Evil Dragon Beast King and admitted he had not examined the beast’s body.
  • Myna bird, Chaos Great Emperor, and Great Emperor Azure Origin agreed that something inside the beast might be connected to Huo Li’s condition.
