Summoning (Part 2)

Jiraiya dashed into a narrow alley, but the crab and lobster couldn't follow. Nagato rode the strange bird to the alley's entrance, then quickly formed a series of hand seals.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough"

He took a deep breath, then suddenly blew out a fierce gale.

The wind was violent. All the scattered debris in the alley was swept up and hurled toward the fleeing Jiraiya like a torrential downpour.

"This is bad, this is bad—"

Jiraiya broke into an even faster run, but how could two legs outrun a gale? In the blink of an eye, the storm caught up with him.

Whoosh!

The gale swept past, and Jiraiya suddenly felt his feet leave the ground. His whole body went flying.

Bang, bang, bang!

All kinds of debris followed close behind, raining down on him and leaving him utterly battered and dazed.

Crash!

He didn't stop until he slammed into the wall of a building.

His entire face had struck the wall, and it hurt so badly that tears began to flow uncontrollably from his eyes.

Boom!

He had only just climbed to his feet when the wall beside him suddenly burst open. Pain's Summoned Beast, the Giant Lobster, crawled out and locked onto him at a glance, then brought its pincers crashing down.

Jiraiya had his hands clasped together, gathering chakra, and had no way to spare them to defend himself.

What was more, the Giant Lobster was enormous. With its pincer crashing down in the already narrow alley, there was nowhere for him to dodge.

At this critical moment, he split his attention in two, forcibly diverting part of the chakra he had gathered and injecting it into his hair.

"Wild Lion's Mane Jutsu"

With the chakra enhancement, his already waist-length hair suddenly grew several more feet.
