Illusion (Part Two)

Hearing the meaning behind Sage Fukasaku's words, Itachi took a deep breath and said seriously, "My Susanoo should be enough, right?"

Sage Shima said seriously, "It is indeed enough!"

"However, our Genjutsu is a large-scale, indiscriminate attack."

"Little Jiraiya and the three of us are united as one and won't be affected, but while protecting us, how will you resist the effects of the Genjutsu?"

"How about I plug my ears?" Itachi asked tentatively.

Sage Fukasaku shook his head and said solemnly, "Except in a vacuum, the transmission of sound waves can never be completely blocked."

"Even if you cover your ears, those sound waves can still enter your auditory centers through vibrations."

Itachi thought for a moment, then immediately took two senbon from his pouch and muttered, "Then I'll just completely ruin these ears of mine!"

With that, before Jiraiya could react, he inserted the two senbon into his ears, piercing straight through his eardrums.

Without the eardrums transmitting vibrations, his auditory centers would never hear another sound.

Jiraiya and the two Great Sages were shocked. They had never expected Itachi to be so decisive.

"Why go this far? Losing your hearing will put you at a huge disadvantage in the battle ahead!" Jiraiya was heartbroken.

Unfortunately, Itachi could no longer hear him.

Yet at that moment, Itachi calmly responded, "Although I can't hear what you're saying, I can use my Sharingan to see every subtle movement you make and understand your lip-reading!"

Hearing this, Jiraiya widened his eyes in astonishment, then shook his head with a bitter smile.

"The Sharingan really is formidable!"

Looking at the blurred figures of Nagato and Konan in the distance, Itachi said seriously, "This Genjutsu attack is our last chance."
