Ch. 363Space

Tobi captured the unconscious Yagura and Isobu in his Mangekyō Sharingan’s Pocket Dimension, then confronted Isobu there. Isobu transformed to attack him, and Tobi removed his mask, revealing his Sharingan and shocking the Tailed Beast.

  • Tobi absorbed Isobu, who had taken control of Yagura’s injured body, into his Pocket Dimension and escaped as Mist shinobi approached.
  • Mist shinobi found Juzo Biwa dead and began searching the battlefield for the Fourth Mizukage.
  • Isobu recognized that it had been transported to another space and demanded that Tobi release it.
  • Tobi insulted Isobu, provoking it to cloak Yagura’s body in chakra and transform into a giant turtle.
  • Tobi removed his mask and revealed his Sharingan, prompting Isobu to recoil and spray white mist.

Ch. 364The Trapped Beast (Part One)

Tobi fought Isobu while Yagura remained unconscious, using powerful Fire Release and deceptive clones to wear down the tailed beast. As Isobu repeated the same defensive exchange, Tobi’s left eye turned deathly gray-white, suggesting he had trapped it in an illusion.

  • Isobu avoided looking at Tobi’s Sharingan because Yagura could not help dispel Genjutsu while unconscious.
  • Tobi’s Fire Release: Exploding Wind Dance created a Fire Dragon Tornado that burned away Isobu’s fog, but Isobu blocked it with a wall of water.
  • Tobi and his Shadow Clone attacked from both sides, and Isobu blasted the apparent attacker with an Iron Cannonball, only to discover it was a clone.
  • Tobi descended with a Kunai, and Isobu threw him away before releasing more fog; Tobi’s left eye gradually turned gray-white.
  • Tobi repeated the Fire Dragon Tornado and clone attack, and Isobu realized it was reliving the same exchange as before.

Ch. 365The Trapped Beast (Part Two)

Tobi trapped Isobu in the Forbidden Genjutsu Izanami and entered Yagura’s sealed space to place the Three-Tails under Sharingan Genjutsu. He intended to control Yagura and Isobu so he could seize authority over Kirigakure, but the chapter ended as he began overwriting Izanami’s effects.

  • Isobu tried to escape the repeating battle by rolling away and hiding in dense fog, but its attacks and Tobi’s techniques continued to repeat.
  • Tobi revealed that he had trapped Isobu in Izanami, sacrificing his transplanted left Sharingan to capture Yagura alive.
  • Tobi explained that controlling Yagura as the Fourth Mizukage would let him take over Kirigakure and investigate its other Tailed Beast.
  • Tobi entered Yagura’s sealed space and used Sharingan Genjutsu on Isobu, whose eyes changed into the Sharingan’s shape.
  • Tobi began overwriting Izanami with another Genjutsu, exploiting Isobu’s inability to recognize that it was already trapped.

Ch. 366Seeking Knowledge

Tobi used Sharingan Genjutsu to take control of Isobu and unconscious Yagura, aiming to make the Fourth Mizukage and the Three-Tails his puppets. In Ryūchi Cave, Qi Shuang sought to learn Tagorihime’s Floating Technique and was offered a broader reward if he retrieved Garaga’s Inverse Scale.

  • Tobi explained that Isobu could escape Izanami by abandoning dense fog, then overrode the illusion with Sharingan Genjutsu.
  • Tobi extended his Sharingan’s Dojutsu Power toward Yagura, intending to control his unconscious consciousness as well as Isobu.
  • After practicing Senjutsu with the three snake priestesses, Qi Shuang asked Tagorihime to teach him the Floating Technique.
  • The White Snake Sage told Tagorihime to offer Qi Shuang Ryūchi Cave’s Senjutsu and Summoning Contract if he retrieved Garaga’s Inverse Scale.
  • Tagorihime relayed the offer, and Qi Shuang eagerly accepted the prospect of earning the snake clan’s Summoning Contract.

Ch. 367Friends

Qi Shuang learned why the sages wanted him to remove Garaga’s Inverse Scale and headed into the depths of Ryūchi Cave to find the crimson snake. Meanwhile, Yagura returned to the Mist ninja with Tobi and called the masked man his good friend.

  • Tagorihime explained that Garaga’s condensed vicious aura caused his volatile behavior and that removing his Inverse Scale could make him gentler.
  • Tagorihime directed Qi Shuang toward Garaga and warned him to beware of the snake’s Petrification Ability.
  • Qi Shuang entered the eastern tunnel to find Garaga.
  • Mist ninja searching for Yagura found his Coral Staff but no trace of him, then saw him emerge from the forest with Tobi.
  • Yagura ordered the Mist ninja to stand down and confirmed that Tobi was his good friend.

Ch. 368Night Falls

Tobi kept his control of Yagura hidden as they returned to Kirigakure, while Qi Shuang found a young snake to guide him through Ryūchi Cave to Garaga. When Yagura reached the village, he threatened the approaching Mist shinobi with crimson chakra.

  • Tobi persuaded the Mist shinobi to keep their distance while he escorted Yagura back toward Kirigakure.
  • Qi Shuang caught a young snake in Ryūchi Cave and learned it could guide him to Garaga.
  • Qi Shuang invoked White Snake Sage's orders, and the little snake agreed to lead him deeper into the tunnels.
  • Tobi escorted Yagura into Kirigakure and vowed to destroy the village in revenge for Rin.
  • Kirigakure's higher-ups rushed to greet Yagura, but he roared at them and took an attacking stance as crimson chakra seeped from his body.

Ch. 369Doubt

Tobi used Genjutsu and a fabricated childhood friendship to guide Yagura through the Hidden Mist Village while keeping the suspicious higher-ups at a distance. Meanwhile, Qi Shuang followed a small snake through a tunnel toward Garaga, where a tremendous rumble interrupted his search.

  • Tobi calmed Yagura and persuaded the Hidden Mist shinobi to let them proceed toward the Mizukage Building.
  • Tobi spotted Ao, used Genjutsu to make Yagura summon him, and continued on with Ao beside them.
  • Tobi told Ao that he had been Yagura's childhood companion, and Ao accepted the explanation while remaining wary.
  • Qi Shuang followed the exhausted little snake through a tunnel and asked whether Garaga was nearby.
  • A tremendous rumble sounded from deep within the tunnel as the little snake prepared to answer.

Ch. 370Sneak Attack

Qi Shuang found Garaga in Ryūchi Cave and used Garaga’s desperate attempt to scratch an itch as an opportunity to freeze most of its body. Garaga refused to serve another human, while Qi Shuang climbed toward the Inverse Scale on its neck.

  • Qi Shuang followed the rumbling into a cavern and found Garaga rubbing against the wall because of an unbearable itch.
  • Garaga ordered Qi Shuang to scratch its back, and Qi Shuang approached while secretly gathering chakra for an attack.
  • Qi Shuang used Ice Release: Ice Sealing Technique to freeze half of Garaga’s body, then stopped the ice before it reached Garaga’s jaw.
  • Garaga declared that it would never fight for another human or sign a Summoning Contract, mistakenly thinking Qi Shuang wanted to subdue it.
  • Qi Shuang climbed the ice toward the huge, backward-growing scale on Garaga’s neck, which he recognized as the Inverse Scale.

Ch. 371Ineffective

Qi Shuang overpowered Garaga as he sought the snake’s Inverse Scale to earn the White Snake Sage’s contract for the entire snake clan. The chapter ended with Garaga pleading as Qi Shuang reached for the scale.

  • Garaga asked whether Qi Shuang had come to sign a Summoning Contract, and Qi Shuang said the White Snake Sage had promised him the snake clan’s contract if he removed Garaga’s Inverse Scale.
  • Qi Shuang dismissed Garaga as too weak to be worth a separate contract, and Garaga attacked him with his Petrifying Poison.
  • Qi Shuang activated Ice Release: Chakra Mode, and Garaga’s poison began turning his body to stone.
  • Qi Shuang shattered the stone substance with his Chakra Cloak and explained that his Sage nature neutralized Garaga’s immature Senjutsu.
  • Qi Shuang reached for Garaga’s Inverse Scale, and Garaga pleaded with him not to touch it.

Ch. 372Taking the Scale

Qi Shuang forcibly removed Garaga’s Inverse Scale after rendering the snake unconscious, then returned from Ryūchi Cave. Meanwhile, Yagura cleared the Mizukage Building of guards, leaving Tobi and Ao alone to talk.

  • Garaga explained that removing its Inverse Scale caused unbearable pain because the scale was connected to its heart and aura.
  • Qi Shuang froze Garaga into unconsciousness, cut out its Inverse Scale, and left it behind as he returned.
  • Yagura ordered the Mist ninja guards to leave the Mizukage Building despite their captain’s objections.
  • Ao persuaded the captain to withdraw, and Tobi said he wanted to speak with Ao in private.

Ch. 373Making a Move

Tobi subdued Yagura with Genjutsu and captured Ao after revealing his intangibility and overpowering Ao's attack. Meanwhile, Qi Shuang heard Garaga suffering after the Inverse Scale was removed, then encountered a horned purple snake with black rings in the tunnel.

  • Tobi made Yagura obey him and kept him silent while he spoke with Ao.
  • Ao attacked Tobi with Water Release: Azure Dragon Palm, but the technique passed through Tobi's intangible body.
  • Ao realized Tobi had placed Yagura under Genjutsu, but Tobi phased behind him and sucked him into the mask's Void Vortex.
  • Tobi used Genjutsu to dismiss the Mist Shinobi guards who came to investigate the disturbance.
  • Qi Shuang heard Garaga screaming in pain after the cold wore off, then met a horned purple snake with black rings at a tunnel fork.

Ch. 374Provocation

Qi Shuang provoked King of Manda into fighting so he could test his Ice Release and subdue the powerful snake for future summons. After King of Manda struck him through a stone wall, Qi Shuang emerged protected by his Chakra Cloak and taunted him about the cold.

  • Qi Shuang recognized King of Manda in the tunnel and called out, while the snake tried to ignore him because he remembered their past encounter.
  • Qi Shuang provoked King of Manda by threatening to make snake soup, and the furious snake charged at him.
  • Qi Shuang activated Ice Release: Chakra Mode and took King of Manda's head-on strike, which sent him through a stone wall.
  • King of Manda scraped the ice from his head and felt its chill, while Qi Shuang climbed from the rock and taunted him.

Ch. 375Coming Clean

Qi Shuang tried to secure Manda's help under the snake clan's Summoning Contract, but rejected Manda's demand for living sacrifices and prepared to force him into submission. Manda lowered his price to eighty sacrifices, leaving their negotiation unresolved.

  • Manda saw that Qi Shuang had survived his attack and restrained his killing intent before trying to leave.
  • Qi Shuang told Manda that the White Snake Sage had promised him the snake clan's Summoning Contract and that he would need Manda's help.
  • Manda demanded one hundred and twenty living sacrifices as payment, threatening to refuse help or turn against Qi Shuang if he received none.
  • Qi Shuang rejected the demand and said he would use his fists to make Manda obey.
  • Manda reluctantly offered to reduce the payment to eighty living sacrifices.

Ch. 376Fierce Snake

Qi Shuang fought King of Manda after refusing to provide the living sacrifices it demanded, using Ice Release and Water Release to weaken and briefly trap the giant snake. King of Manda broke free and hid in a dust cloud to approach Qi Shuang by surprise.

  • Qi Shuang refused King of Manda's demand for living sacrifices and attacked it with a giant ice shuriken.
  • King of Manda shattered the shuriken, but Qi Shuang transformed the fragments into ice needles that pierced its scales and lowered its body temperature.
  • King of Manda charged Qi Shuang, who used a Water Dragon to distract it before freezing it with Ice Sealing Technique.
  • King of Manda shattered the ice covering its head and escaped the seal, surprising Qi Shuang.
  • King of Manda swept up sand and stones with its tail, obscured the cavern, and disappeared from Qi Shuang's sight to prepare a surprise attack.

Ch. 377Test

Qi Shuang survived Wan She's bite by relying on Chakra Mode, then sealed himself in ice to absorb Natural Energy. The ice block shattered under Wan She's tail, leaving Qi Shuang exposed as he entered a transformed state.

  • Wan She used its tail to send Qi Shuang flying into its open mouth, but its fangs could not break through his Chakra Cloak.
  • Qi Shuang revealed that he had allowed Wan She to bite him to test Chakra Mode's defensive power, then used Ice Release: Ice Sealing Technique to encase himself in ice.
  • Qi Shuang canceled Chakra Mode and absorbed Natural Energy inside the ice block, remaining undisturbed when it struck a rock wall.
  • Wan She spotted the ice block and smashed it with its tail, shattering the ice as Qi Shuang's eyelids gained blue eyeshadow and horns grew from his head.

Ch. 378Submission

Qi Shuang entered Sage Mode and used a Senjutsu-enhanced ice technique to freeze King of Manda, but the serpent escaped by shedding its skin. King of Manda acknowledged Qi Shuang’s strength and stopped fighting, then demanded a living sacrifice for each time he summoned it.

  • Qi Shuang entered Sage Mode and blocked King of Manda’s tail whip before grabbing its tail.
  • Qi Shuang used Sage Art: Ice Release: Eternal Ice Coffin, freezing half of King of Manda’s body.
  • King of Manda escaped the ice by using its Shedding Skin Technique, leaving behind a shed skin.
  • Qi Shuang and King of Manda discussed whether Orochimaru had learned his escape technique from the serpent.
  • King of Manda acknowledged Qi Shuang as a Sage of Ryūchi Cave and refused to fight further.
  • Qi Shuang told King of Manda he would not provide living sacrifices, but King of Manda insisted on receiving one each time it was summoned.

Ch. 379Scheming

Tobi planned to secure the Hozuki Clan as an ally so he could keep control of Kirigakure if his Genjutsu on Yagura was exposed, while still pursuing revenge against the village. Meanwhile, Mei Terumi continued waiting for Qi Shuang after nearly three years apart.

  • Qi Shuang agreed to give King of Manda one sacrifice, and Manda left before Qi Shuang dispelled Sage Mode and departed.
  • Tobi subdued Ao with Genjutsu and concluded that Yagura could not maintain the act for long, so he needed a clan ally to protect his position.
  • Tobi chose the Hozuki Clan, reasoning that he could use the Mizukage position to win its support and set it against the other great clans.
  • Tobi stored Yagura in his Pocket Dimension because a third party could dispel the Genjutsu controlling him, then decided to approach the Hozuki Clan that night.
  • Mei Terumi, still at the Terumi Clan residence, accepted that Qi Shuang might never return and focused instead on chakra fusion experiments and growing stronger.

Ch. 380Cooperation (Part 1)

Tobi infiltrated Hozuki Masamune’s residence and offered to help the Hozuki Clan claim the Mizukage position. To prove his power, he brought the controlled Fourth Mizukage, Karatachi Yagura, into the study and began revealing his Tailed Beast chakra.

  • Tobi entered Hozuki Masamune’s study through his spatial ability, and Masamune attacked him with Water Gun Technique.
  • Tobi explained that he had come to help the Hozuki Clan obtain the Mizukage position, and Masamune dismissed the guards who had rushed to the study.
  • Tobi confirmed that he had appeared beside the Fourth Mizukage, but said he had acted for his own purposes rather than out of friendship.
  • Tobi used a Void Vortex to bring Karatachi Yagura into the study, and Masamune doubted that the vacant-looking figure was the real Mizukage.
  • Tobi told Yagura to demonstrate his strength, and scarlet chakra began emerging from Yagura’s body.

Ch. 381Cooperation (Part 2)

Tobi demonstrated that he controlled Fourth Mizukage Karatachi Yagura and offered to help the Hozuki Clan claim the Mizukage position. Hozuki Masamune agreed to cooperate and promised the Six-Tails, while Tobi intended to use the alliance to advance his own plans.

  • Hozuki Masamune fled from Yagura's Tailed Beast chakra, then watched as Tobi made Yagura withdraw it and sent him into the Void Vortex.
  • Hozuki Masamune recognized Tobi's Sharingan and suspected he was Itachi Uchiha, but Tobi denied it and refused to reveal his identity.
  • Tobi offered to help the Hozuki Clan secure the Mizukage position and said he wanted the Three-Tails, the Six-Tails, other people, and a chance to become a village's shadow.
  • Hozuki Masamune agreed to give Tobi the Six-Tails after the Hozuki Clan gained the Mizukage position, and Tobi accepted the deal.

Ch. 382Cooperation (Part Two)

Tobi persuaded the Hozuki Clan Head to seize Kirigakure's leadership by taking the village's higher-ups hostage, while keeping them alive to preserve order. The Hozuki Clan Head agreed, and Tobi told him to secure control of Kirigakure before Yagura eventually gave up the Mizukage position.

  • Tobi explained that the Hozuki Clan could not gain the Terumi and Hoshigaki Clans' support without making concessions it would not accept.
  • Tobi proposed that the Hozuki Clan capture Kirigakure's higher-ups at a meeting he would call in the Mizukage's name.
  • The Hozuki Clan Head agreed to the plan after Tobi promised the hostages would not be killed.
  • Tobi explained that keeping the higher-ups alive would help restrain the factions and maintain Kirigakure's stability.
  • The Hozuki Clan Head asked when Yagura would hand over the Mizukage position, and Tobi said the clan should first take control of the village.
