It was a dark and windy night. In an unknown university dormitory, a Hyperion cleaner who could do an aerial split had just cleared the Sea of Quanta for the second time. He let out a roar just like that of a certain Herrscher of the Box Lunch:
"Teacher Shaoji, I want to cuddle you to sleep!"
But to explain what happened, we have to start from the beginning.
When it came to the game's story, Wang Luowei considered himself someone with a very high threshold for tears. So when others recommended that he play Honkai Impact 3rd, claiming that the story was incredibly sweet, he saw their malicious smiles and knew they had ulterior motives. Even so, he agreed without hesitation.
At first, things went just as he had expected. Although the stories of The Last Lesson, Skybreaking Meteor, and Eternal Flames moved him somewhat, he still did not shed a single tear, even when faced with Chocolate Gate.
That was, until he reached the Sea of Quanta and saw Qianjie, dragging his ruined body along, say to Aponia, "Sakura was never a traitor." After all the buildup, even his tear glands, which had been unmoved for years, finally burst their banks.
Since he had no interest in the Mars Storyline, he used an alternate account to go through the first part of the story again. When he reached the point just before the Sea of Quanta storyline, he originally thought that since he already knew what would happen later, he probably would not be affected again.
As it turned out, he was wrong.
Knowing that those thirteen people had died forty-one times in total, looking back over the process of being stabbed again and again felt like resurrecting them only to kill them all over again. And when he discovered more details he had missed the first time, he cried even louder.
Even knowing their endings and what had happened to them, experiencing it all over again still moved him. After playing through the Sea of Quanta, the Herrscher of Corruption, an utterly detestable villain alongside the Thirteen Flame-Chasers, had also left a deep impression on him.
Since this was his first contact with the Honkai universe, Wang Luowei often let his imagination run wild. For example, what would happen if the being who became a Herrscher were not human, but an entity that already possessed other superpowers?
Or, since Old Yang could run over to the world of Honkai: Star Rail, what would happen if a Pathwalker or even an Emanator from Honkai: Star Rail came to the world of Honkai Impact 3rd?
"It's almost half past nine. Abyss rewards are being settled tonight. Let's see if I can move up a tier... Hmm? What the hell? Why did the score change to ?" Wang Luowei had instinctively closed the pop-up window, but opened the announcement again.
"Explanation of the Superstring Space Anomaly and Compensation"
"Damn that adorable Wubbaboo of a bastard! Do you know how long I spent squeezing out every last point? I really want to love the brilliant, wise, and adorable game planner to death!"
Sigh, that was how the Abyss worked. Players only needed to learn to use their ultimate at the right moment, watch the timer, and keep squeezing out points. The planners, meanwhile, had a great deal more to consider.
The story was a good story, at least. As for the game itself... opinions varied.
As a liver-pain-inducing tune began to play, Wang Luowei opened the Superstring Space again.
"Thank goodness it's the Physical Type. My Physical Team is fully geared. The advantage is mine. Time to get grinding."
After finishing the run, Wang Luowei found himself in seventh place, only one point behind sixth.
A Honkai Impact 3rd player who did not retry for a single point was no true Abyss player. Wang Luowei immediately started another run.

"That's more like it. Hard work always pays off. You have to play games with a smile... Wait, why hasn't my score changed?" Sensing that something was wrong, Wang Luowei glanced at the time.

"Fuck, I can't take it anymore! I'm going to punch that damn planner!" Anger surged through Wang Luowei, and he punched his phone. The phone, however, emitted a blinding light the next moment, and Wang Luowei vanished from the spot.
"Damn it... I haven't deleted the several gigabytes of study materials on my computer yet..." Those were Wang Luowei's final words before his consciousness faded.
After an unknown amount of time, Wang Luowei recovered his memories and consciousness. He found that his surroundings had become an endless snowfield.
"Sigh, transmigration happens every year, and now it's my turn. These days, do you not even need a truck to transmigrate anymore?" Looking at the unfamiliar world, Wang Luowei, who had read plenty of transmigration novels, did not panic.
Looking down, he saw that he was floating in midair, with neither hands nor feet.
"What the hell have I turned into?" He controlled this body and drifted to a low-lying pond. He lowered his head to look into the water, then froze on the spot.
His true form was a huge red eyeball. Having just finished the Sea of Quanta, he was far too familiar with this appearance.

He knew that in the world of Honkai Impact 3rd, an ordinary person who could not do anything could survive to the end if they were lucky enough to avoid several key places, such as Changkong City and Tianqiong City. Becoming a Herrscher, on the other hand, meant danger.
Forget it. Since I'm here, I'll settle in. Look on the bright side: I've become the Herrscher of Corruption, so the Sea of Quanta can remain until after the Great Eruption, and the Thirteen Flame-Chasers can all see the world after defeating the Honkai. After pounding his chest and stamping his feet for a while, he accepted this unchangeable fact. Looking around, he saw quite a few Zombies and Honkai Beasts gathered nearby.
"A Herrscher has the ability to command and summon Honkai Beasts. These should be Honkai Beasts created by my birth, right? Why is the strongest only Chariot-class? No, this isn't the time to think about that. Although I'm the Herrscher of Corruption, I didn't descend when Raiden Mei was speaking with the Will of Honkai. That means the timeline may have changed. If Otto is still alive... I don't want to be captured by him and used in experiments. I need to think of something..."
Wang Luowei desperately recalled everything he knew about the Herrscher of Corruption.
"The Herrscher of Corruption is an ultimate virus capable of infecting all living creatures and electronic devices. In other words, it can make people draw from the gacha, and it can also make Luo Tianyi absorb it. It can alter the information of any device or living creature. In theory, that means I can modify my own information too."
Once he had decided, Wang Luowei immediately adjusted his own information.
"The most important part... anything related to Honkai Energy... With the authority of the Herrscher of Corruption, fooling Schicksal's instruments shouldn't be a problem... Okay, done."
Wang Luowei quickly completed the modifications. All his current data had been lowered to below Herrscher level. No matter what machine was used to measure him, the result would only show an individual with extremely high Honkai Energy resistance.
Of course, this was equivalent to placing a seal on himself. In this state, he could not use too much Honkai Energy. Wang Luowei was not stupid enough to trap himself, though. Since he had placed the seal himself, he could naturally remove it himself. He would first save his current data, restore it with One-Click Restore when necessary, and then change it back whenever he needed to hide his strength.
