Previous Civilization
At the Flame-Chasing Moth base, Mei was presiding over a meeting. Strangely, however, Elysia, Aponia, and Vill-V were all absent. Judging from Mei's solemn expression, everyone knew that today's topic was anything but ordinary.
Mei took a deep breath and swept her gaze around the room:
"I don't have much time left. Let's get straight to the most important matter."
"Everyone, from being merely a name on paper to becoming the final gate, when I joined the Flame-Chasing Moth, I never imagined we would arrive at a scene like today's."
"I'm not a suitable candidate, nor do I have a long life in which to correct my mistakes. Before we completely defeat Honkai, I may fall victim to the limits of the human lifespan first."
"So... there are some things I have no choice but to entrust to you. Today, I don't want to hear any lies.
"Everyone, think carefully:
When, exactly, did you first meet Elysia?"
Eden was just about to say something when Mei raised a hand to stop her. Eden could only swallow the words that had been on the tip of her tongue.
That night, the Bright Moon hung high in the sky.
Elysia lightly stepped onto the tip of the tower at the Flame-Chasing Moth base. A purple crystal flower moved between her fingers, flickering under the moonlight. She kept the Honkai Energy within the crystal flower from spilling out, even though doing so would have made it glow with a pale purple light suited to the night.
A noise came from behind her. Even without turning around, she knew who it was. After all, the only person who knew she was here and would come looking for her was Eden.
"Hi, Eden."
"Hi, Elysia."
Even without seeing Elysia's face, Eden could tell
