Umbrella Corporation, founded by Chen Changsheng, has yet to decide on its products. The company's framework is in place, but nothing is running smoothly, and Chen Changsheng has much to attend to.
Recently, Chen Changsheng has been in constant contact with Tony Stark, and their relationship has significantly improved. Having absorbed the memories of numerous scholars and top scientists, Chen Changsheng naturally possesses the capital to become a genius. Communicating with a genius like Tony Stark is effortless. However, possessing knowledge is one thing, and being able to apply it flexibly is another.
Tony Stark's endless stream of wild ideas, coupled with his capability to realize them, truly fills Chen Changsheng with envy.
Although Chen Changsheng feels his knowledge base is sufficient, he always feels something is missing when compared to Tony Stark. Perhaps it's that spark of genius that truly gifted individuals possess.
As the saying goes, the most valuable asset in the 21st century is talent. However, in Chen Changsheng's view, the 21st century lacks people like Tony Stark who can bring imagination to reality.
Through his exchanges with Tony Stark, Chen Changsheng learned that Tony is currently researching a new weapon: a missile capable of leveling an entire mountainside with a single shot.
One could say, as expected of an arms magnate, his research subjects are indeed unique.
Tony Stark discusses these destructive weapons with Chen Changsheng without any reservations, and Chen Changsheng is indifferent, occasionally offering new suggestions to Tony Stark.
For a time, they even felt a sense of mutual appreciation. Chen Changsheng is also an arms magnate, but they simply focus on different aspects. However, in either domain, both possess the capability to destroy the entire Earth.
Stark Industries pursues greater firepower, while Umbrella focuses on the ultimate potential of individual life. When put this way, it seems their pursuits don't conflict; in fact, they might even collaborate if the opportunity arises.
When Chen Changsheng mentioned his plan to develop a serum that enhances human physique, Tony Stark immediately interjected. He stated that his father, Edward Stark, had already developed a similar serum with Dr. Erskine during World War II, which led to the creation of Captain America.
From his conversations with Tony Stark, Chen Changsheng could tell that this genius had also made efforts in this area but had not achieved success.
Chen Changsheng clicked his tongue, thinking, As expected of Marvel, a universe that defies logic. My own existence is already unreasonable, but compared to the many unscientific things in this universe, it's quite insignificant.
From a young age, Edward Stark used Captain America, Steve Rogers, as an example of another child's success to educate his son, Tony. Consequently, the young Tony Stark spent some time researching human enhancement, but with minimal results. Later, after his father died in a car accident, Tony abandoned the idea.
This is also a limitation of the era. If Tony Stark were to fully dedicate himself to human enhancement research now, with his financial resources and intellect, he might actually make some breakthroughs.
However, in Tony Stark's current state, it's highly unlikely he would pursue such research unless faced with a life-or-death crisis.
Hearing today that Chen Changsheng intended to research human enhancement, Tony became quite interested. But as a genius, Tony Stark firmly believes that a good horse doesn't turn back to graze on old pastures. He, the wealthy Stark, has more important things to do and shouldn't waste time on things he's already pursued. He believes Chen Changsheng, as a young man, should be the one to research human enhancement.
Chen Changsheng cannot directly tell Tony Stark that he can enhance an ordinary person into Captain America with just a snap of his fingers. Therefore, Chen Changsheng can only subtly describe the future prospects of physical enhancement to Tony Stark from a technological perspective.
Finally, before leaving, Chen Changsheng made a request to Tony Stark: to purchase some high-end equipment under the name of Stark Industries.
Tony readily agreed to Chen Changsheng's request. In Tony Stark's eyes, Chen Changsheng is very much to his liking, one of the few people with whom he can have enjoyable conversations, so helping him out with a small favor is no problem.
With Tony Stark's assistance, Chen Changsheng's company developed at an incredible pace. In summary, it had both money and people. In the Umbrella Tower, Chen Changsheng demonstrated a transformation from a little white rabbit into a Hunter, whose formidable destructive power completely stunned the research staff.
In a world without bioweapon crises, a Hunter would be enough for these scientists to study for some time. The Hunter does not carry the Blacklight Virus and is therefore not contagious. Chen Changsheng also limited the Hunter's unparalleled evolutionary capabilities.
After all, this ability is directly related to his own life and safety, and Chen Changsheng doesn't want too many people to know about it.
Of course, a creature like the Hunter is still too dangerous. Chen Changsheng decided to reference the Tyrant from Resident Evil and create bioweapons with extremely strong self-healing abilities and the capacity to control human weaponry, which would be more reasonable.
Thus, after a period of incubation, a three-meter-tall bio-engineered Tyrant giant appeared in the laboratory. This, of course, was Chen Changsheng's doing; relying on Umbrella Corporation's research staff, Chen Changsheng felt he wouldn't even have a hot meal by New Year's.
Chen Changsheng also spent some time creating the Tyrant because he worried its appearance would be too grotesque and might provoke negative human reactions. Therefore, Chen made some changes to the Tyrant's appearance and skin.
While the Tyrant's original exposed flesh was terrifying and highly intimidating, it was also rather unsightly. So, to save trouble, Chen Changsheng simply changed it to black. From a distance, it resembled a large black gorilla, thus avoiding the many issues associated with cloning humans openly.
By copying a segment of memories from the Web of Conspiracy that involved controlling various light and heavy weapons and implanting it into the Tyrant's mind, a bio-engineered Tyrant proficient in various skills was freshly produced.
This technique was still too advanced, so Chen Changsheng, putting on a show, had a batch of chips customized for the Tyrant, creating the illusion that the Tyrant was controlled by these chips.
Although bio-weapons equipped with chips seem somewhat incongruous, it is still more plausible than Chen Changsheng directly implanting memories.
The Marvel world already possesses cloning technology, but it is not very mature.
However, none of this is a problem. Chen Changsheng simply adjusted the nutrient solution ratio, and thus, Umbrella Corporation in this world acquired the latest gene cloning technology.
While other companies require fifteen to twenty years of normal cultivation for clones, Chen Changsheng's technology can advance a person from infancy to optimal adult state in just a few months.
Upon reflection, overly advanced cloning technology is also problematic, as it can instill a sense of crisis in humanity. Therefore, Chen Changsheng also imposed genetic shackles on the clones in his company: the clones must replenish essential nutrients through nutrient pods at regular intervals, and their lifespan is only one-third of that of ordinary humans.
With these restrictions in place, Chen believes humanity will have a psychological advantage when facing cloning technology and will not encounter such strong opposition.
While waiting for the next batch of mass-produced Tyrant clones to mature, Chen Changsheng ordered a batch of conventional weapons from Hammer Industries and some unconventional weapons from Stark Industries through the Stark Industries to arm the Tyrants.
After personally learning how to use this batch of weapons, Chen Changsheng directly infused the memories into the first completed batch of Tyrants. These Tyrants possess strong abilities and were meticulously crafted by Chen Changsheng; he believes they are far superior to the mass-produced clones that will come later and should also be much smarter.
Therefore, Chen Changsheng does not intend to sell them as weapons. It's better to keep them by his side, at least as a display of Umbrella Corporation's prestige.
A company with only one product would seem too one-dimensional, so Chen Changsheng decided to develop some drugs that enhance human immunity. Some such drugs already exist in this world, and Chen Changsheng intends to produce enhanced versions of these existing medications.
They will be better than the previous ones and more expensive, thus not interfering with competing companies, and no one will target Chen Changsheng's business.
Making money, he needs to make money quickly, as he is constantly paying interest on the US dollars borrowed from the bank.
Chen Changsheng sees clearly that in this world, he must operate according to its rules. If he were like Tony Stark, a technology tycoon and a capital magnate, even S.H.I.E.L.D. would not dare to trifle with him.
In previous conversations, Chen Changsheng learned from Tony Stark about an upcoming weapons bidding conference within the military. Chen Changsheng is now considering this opportunity. Who makes the most money in this world? Certainly not playboys like Tony Stark.
If he wants to make big money, he must look to the military.
Therefore, Chen Changsheng asked Tony Stark to secure him a booth.
Tony Stark's relationship with Chen Changsheng is good lately. He feels Chen Changsheng is eager to prove himself. Partly out of the mindset of an elder, and partly wanting to see what new things Chen Changsheng has, he generously agreed to Chen Changsheng's request.
Chen Changsheng enthusiastically prepares to secure a large order from the military to alleviate his financial pressure. As for what to display, the Tyrant is the most suitable at the moment; it aligns with current technology and is not too far ahead. Much like Iron Man's armor in the future, although highly advanced, many people can still manufacture it.
The only thing truly ahead of current technology is the Arc Reactor. This is the core competitiveness. More importantly, the Arc Reactor technology is not entirely out of reach, especially since the large Arc Reactor in the Stark Industries park has been publicly displayed for decades.
It's like this: a technological gap of only a few years or decades, yet you simply cannot develop it, nor is it worth forcefully seizing.
All Chen Changsheng had to do was release his latest cloning technology to the public and then secure the key technology of memory transfer. The thought of people potentially using cloning technology in the future to create countless instinct-driven idiots made Chen Changsheng chuckle inwardly.
Chen Changsheng was also preparing to leave a huge pitfall for those who would plagiarize his achievements in the future. Perhaps humanity would develop a method for implanting memories in the future, but it seemed within reach yet still impossibly far away.
