Black Watch deployed far fewer troops than the human army that had once hunted Bumblebee, so Bumblebee was confident he could escape safely.
However, years of observation had also taught Bumblebee that Earth was humanity's home turf. The progress of human technology was plain to see. Even as a Transformer, he had to be careful when facing human firepower.
Unwilling to fall into human hands, Bumblebee immediately launched a counterattack. His arm cannon boomed repeatedly, firing shells in an attempt to eliminate the hovering attack helicopters first. Bumblebee knew how important air superiority was, so there was nothing wrong with that choice.
Yet dreams were full and reality was thin. The distance was too great, and Bumblebee's arm cannon could not hit accurately. As soon as he fired several rounds, the helicopters began their counterattack.
An air-to-ground missile locked onto Bumblebee and launched, trailing a long tail as it flew toward him amid a tremendous roar.
But this extraterrestrial Transformer was no pushover. With a shake of his arm cannon, he scattered a barrage like a shower of heavenly maidens. The flares formed a fan-shaped screen and intercepted the air-to-ground missile not far from Bumblebee.
However, the air-to-ground missile was tremendously powerful. Even though Bumblebee had intercepted it and detonated it some distance away, he was still badly shaken by the blast.
Clearly, humanity had not spent all these years standing still. At the very least, the power of its weapons had increased countless times over.
The shockwave left Bumblebee dizzy and lightheaded. He struggled to shake his head, and by the time he recovered, the Black Watch troops had already reached him.
On the troop carriers, Black Watch soldiers spread out in a tactical encirclement, while various heavy weapons farther away locked onto him.
Even at such a disadvantage,
