After reminding Gudexi of the relic's true location, Yu Ran turned and left.
Perhaps the relic had been marked in the wrong place, or perhaps someone had arrived ahead of him, taken his relic, and thrown it away.
Either way, it had nothing to do with him.
Could he really find the culprit? The drones' surveillance range clearly did not cover this place. Combined with the terrible weather, no one could possibly know what had happened here, a full eighty kilometers from the starting point.
His opponent might have chosen this spot precisely for that reason, losing his senses and committing such an act of framing against a fellow soldier.
But Yu Ran was too lazy to explain further. Once the other party failed to find the relic, he would certainly go there to look.
What made him nervous now
was the location of his own relic!
Could someone have arrived there ahead of him and secretly thrown his relic somewhere else too?
He walked with his head bowed for roughly four or five kilometers. As his position increasingly overlapped with the point recorded on the note,
Yu Ran nervously looked around.
Yet, to his disappointment—or rather, as he had expected—the ground indeed bore no mark indicating a relic.
It seemed that the person who had gotten there first had not only thrown away Gudexi's relic, but had thrown away his as well.
Perhaps he had even wiped out everyone in this area, throwing their relics into some unknown corner.
"Damn, this cursed thing!"
If he had not been certain that his position was correct, and if he had not seen Gudexi's relic,
Yu Ran would never have felt so desperate.
But now, he could only helplessly drop onto the rain-soaked ground, staring blankly at the violent storm around him.
