When all was said and done, the current death tide was perhaps the disaster humans understood best—and could deal with best.
Aside from a small number of territories with fewer than a thousand people complaining on the World Channel, most somewhat larger territories were enthusiastically discussing how to deal with the disaster.
They discussed everything from monster types, abilities, and countermeasures, to the priority of items in the shop, the selection of various resources, and how to build Defense Facilities against the death tide.
The World Channel scrolled incredibly fast, and many ordinary survivors joined in, speaking their minds freely.

The ultraviolet rays in the Southern Fire Domain were extremely strong. Even wearing a hat had barely any effect.
Most survivors' faces had long since turned black in some places and red in others. They had been scorched until their skin peeled and festered.
Many had even developed special skin diseases because of it. The moment they were exposed to direct sunlight, they suffered unbearable pain and wished they could scratch their skin raw.
Yet at that moment, the face reflected in the basin was much better than most survivors'.
It was dark overall, with only a few scattered patches of peeling skin around the edges. There was not the slightest sign of festering.
